Yang Baohua (Chinese :阳宝华; born September 1947) is a former Chinese politician from Hunan province. [1] He served successively as the party chief of Yueyang, party chief of Changsha, and Vice-Chairman of Hunan People's Political Consultative Conference. Yang was born in a village in Hengshan County, Hunan province, prior to the founding of the People's Republic of China. [1] During the Cultural Revolution, Yang attended the No.1 Hengdong High School. [1]
He became joined the workforce in December 1968 and joined the Chinese Communist Party in August 1972. [1] [2] [3]
From 1968 to 1983, Yang worked as a local officer in Hengyang. [1] [2] [3]
He entered Central Party School of the Chinese Communist Party in September 1983, where he graduated in August 1985. [1] After graduation, he was appointed as the Vice-Mayor of Hengyang, a position he held until November 1991, when he was transferred to Yiyang and appointed the deputy party chief. [1] [2] [3]
He served as the party chief of Yueyang between April 1995 to January 1998. [1] [2] [3]
In February 1998, he was promoted to become the Communist Party Secretary of Changsha, capital of Hunan province. [1] [2] [3]
In January 2003, he was elevated to the Vice-Chairman of Hunan People's Political Consultative Conference. [1] [2] [3]
On May 26, 2014, it was announced that Yang was under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection for "serious violations of laws and regulations". [1] The CCDI investigation concluded that Yang had taken bribes, abused his power, and "committed adultery." His case was taken up by the Guilin Intermediate People's Court in Guangxi. The court found that Yang took 13.56 million yuan (~$2.13 million) in bribes personally or through his wife, son, and brother-in-law. [5]
On November 3, 2015, Yang Baohua was sentenced to 11 years in jail for taking bribes. [6]
Tong Mingqian is a former Chinese politician. At the height of his political career he served as the Communist Party Secretary of the cities of Shaoyang and Hengyang, before becoming the Vice-Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a largely ceremonial legislative consultation body. He was removed from office in December 2013 and placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-graft agency.
Zhu Zuoli is a former Chinese politician who spent most of his career in Shaanxi Province. Zhu was the Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission between 2008 and 2013, a department with broad powers over the provincial economy, and then the Vice-Chairman of the provincial People's Political Consultative Conference (Zhengxie), a mostly ceremonial legislative consultation body. He was placed under investigation for corruption by the Communist Party's internal anti-corruption agency in February 2014, and dismissed from his positions. In 2015, he was sentenced to 11 years in prison for bribery.
Chen Tiexin is a former Chinese politician. Between 2013 and 2014 Chen served as the vice chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a largely ceremonial legislative consultation body. Prior to that he served as the mayor of Dandong and the party secretary of Chaoyang. Chen was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption body in May 2014, and was the first high-ranking official being examined from Liaoning province.
