Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited(SMGPL) is an automotive manufacturing plant owned by Suzuki Motor Corporation. Located in Hansalpur Becharaji village of Mandal Taluka in Ahmedabad District, it is the first and the only Suzuki automobile manufacturing plant in India that is wholly owned directly by Suzuki as a foreign company, as the other plants are owned by Maruti Suzuki. [1] The plant supplies vehicles to Maruti Suzuki in the domestic market and to overseas markets. The plant was opened on 1 February 2017 and has the total annual capacity of 750,000 units. [2] [3] The plant has helped Suzuki achieve exports of 2 million units from India. [4] On 31 July, Maruti Suzuki made an announcement to acquire 100% stake of SMG from SMC.

Suzuki Motor Gujarat currently consists of four plants, the Plant A, opened in February 2017, has a total annual capacity of 250,000 and is currently assembling the Baleno. The Plant B was operational in January 2019 has a total vehicle producing capacity of 250,000 and it is currently assembling the Swift. Plant C started production in April 2021 with an annual capacity of 250,000 and is currently assembling the Dzire. [5] The powertrain plant has an annual capacity of producing 500,000 engines and 500,000 powertrains. [6]

The plant crossed 1 million production mark on 21 October 2020, just 3 years and 9 months since it started production in February 2017. It is the fastest production site of Suzuki to reach the milestone. [7] It crossed production mark of two million units on 20 August 2022. It has achieved this milestone in 5 years and 6 months after having started production in February 2017 and this is the fastest in any Suzuki production plant. The 2 millionth vehicles produced was a Baleno with South African specifications.[ citation needed ] The plant achieved production milestone of 3 million vehicles in December 2023. The milestone was achieved within a span of around 6 years and 11 months, making it the fastest to manufacture 3 million units across all Suzuki-run facilities.

The Suzuki Swift is a supermini car (B-segment) produced by Suzuki. The vehicle is classified as a B-segment marque in the European single market, a segment referred to as a supermini in the British Isles. Prior to this, the "Swift" nameplate had been applied to the rebadged Suzuki Cultus in numerous export markets since 1985 and for the Japanese-market Suzuki Ignis since 2000. The Swift became its own model in 2004. Currently, the Swift is positioned between Ignis and Baleno in Suzuki's global hatchback lineup.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited is the Indian subsidiary of Japanese automaker Suzuki Motor Corporation. As of September 2022, the company had a leading market share of 42 percent in the Indian passenger car market. The company is known for making low-maintenance cars for the Indian market.

Multijet is Stellantis's term for its current common rail direct injection turbodiesel engine range. Most of the Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Lancia range, as well as certain Chrysler, RAM Trucks, Jeep, and Maserati vehicles, are equipped with Multijet engines. Ownership of some Fiat Multijet designs is shared with General Motors as part of a settlement of the failed merger between the two auto conglomerates. The Suzuki Cultus Crescent is a subcompact car that was produced by Suzuki in Japan between 1995 and 2002, with South Asian production continuing until 2007. The Cultus Crescent was sold as such in Japan until May 1998, when it was renamed Suzuki Cultus due to the sales discontinuation of the previous Cultus in the Japanese market. The Cultus Crescent was also marketed as the Suzuki Esteem in North America, Philippines and Thailand, and as the Suzuki Baleno throughout Asia, Australasia, Europe, and Latin America. The Suzuki Ertiga is a series of multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) manufactured by the Japanese carmaker Suzuki since the year 2012. The first-generation model is heavily based on the Swift while the second-generation model introduced in 2018 is made larger and based on the HEARTECT platform. A crossover-styled version was introduced in 2019 as a separate model called the Suzuki XL6 in India and Suzuki XL7 for worldwide markets. The largest markets for the Ertiga are India and Indonesia, where the model is mainly manufactured. The vehicle has also been exported to other South Asian and Southeast Asian markets, along with several markets in Africa, Middle East, Pacific Islands, Caribbean and Latin America.

Sanand Plant is a passenger vehicles manufacturing facility located in Chharodi village of Sanand taluka in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat, India; owned and operated by Tata Motors. It is also their newest car manufacturing facility and manufactures popular hatchbacks like Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor. Initially it was started to manufacture the Tata Nano, but now it manufactures other hatchbacks like Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor. The plant reached 100% capacity utilization in 2018. Tata Motors rolled out the 3,00,000th Tiago manufactured at Sanand plant in 2020.

It manufactures automotive safety glass, float glass, architectural processed glass, and glass products. It also provides consumer glass offerings in the form of Glasxperts and Windshield Experts. AIS was established as a Joint Venture agreement between Mr. BM Labroo and family, Asahi Glass Co. Ltd., Japan, and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. In the Indian passenger car glass segment, AIS has 77.1% market share as of 2017. AIS also holds 20% market share in India’s architectural glass segment as of 2017.

The Suzuki K engine family is a series of automobile engines from Suzuki, introduced in 1994. Displacements range from 0.7 L to 1.5 L. All engines have aluminium cylinder blocks with three or four cylinders in-line. Cylinder heads have two overhead camshafts, driven by chain, and four valves per cylinder. Fuel is gasoline/petrol, metered by multipoint fuel injection or direct injection. Some variants are turbocharged.
