Talupulamma Temple (popularly known as Talupulamma Lova) is a Hindu pilgrimage site located in the village of Lova in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh, India. [1] [2] The presiding deity is a gramadevatha known as Talupulamma Thalli (lit. Goddess who grants wishes). [2]
It is located between two heavily forested hillocks Darakonda and Teegakonda near the town of Tuni and has views of the valley. [3] [4] The temple is situated 65 km from Kakinada and 90 km from Visakhapatnam. [5] [6] The temple is also close to the Vaishnavite temple town of Annavaram (20 km).
The primary festival of the temple is the annual Jatara and the Ashada Masa Utsavams. The annual Jatara is celebrated from Chaitra Bahula Vidiya to Chaitra Bahula Amavasya for 15 days. [7] Ashada Masa Utsavams are celebrated from Ashada Suddha Padyami to Ashada Bahula Amavasya every year. The temple follows Grama Devatha Agamas. [6]

Sri Suryanarayana Swami Temple is a Sun temple situated in Gollala Mamidada village in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple was founded in 1920 by Sri Kovvuri Basivi Reddy, the zamindar of Gollala Mamidada, near the Antharvahini river amongst 16 acres of grass fields and coconut palms. The temple is 20 km (12 mi) from Kakinada and 58 km (36 mi) away from Rajahmundry. Some of the rites and festivals performed include Archanas, Abhishekams, Ratha Saptami, and Ekadasi.

With Kakinada as its administrative headquarters, it was proposed on 26 January 2022 to become one of the resultant twenty six districts in the state after the final notification has been issued on 4 April 2022 by the government of Andhra Pradesh. The district was formed from Kakinada and Peddapuram revenue divisions from East Godavari district. Incidentally, during earlier times, the region comprising towns Pithapuram, Kakinada and Peddapuram were referred as Polnaud or Prolunadu, which now roughly corresponds to the areas in this district.
