Tattenhall Road railway station was a railway station situated a mile to the north of the village of Tattenhall, Cheshire on the Chester and Crewe Railway that was built in 1840 linking Chester to the north-west with Crewe to the south-east. The track now forms part of the North Wales Coast Line.
The station was named Tattenhall Road in 1872 to distinguish it from another Tattenhall railway station, a little to the west of the village, on the Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway branch line to Whitchurch.
The station took back the name Tattenhall when the branch line closed in 1957. It was then itself closed in 1966. [1] The station building still exists, now as a private house.

Tattenhall is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Tattenhall and District, 8 miles (13 km) south-east of Chester, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. In the 2001 census, the population was recorded as 1,986, increasing to 2,079 by the 2011 census. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 to form Tattenhall and District.

The Welsh Marches line, known historically as the North and West Route, is the railway line running from Newport in south-east Wales to Shrewsbury in the West Midlands region of England by way of Abergavenny, Hereford and Craven Arms and thence to Crewe via Whitchurch. The line thus links the south of Wales to north-west England via the Welsh Marches region, bypassing Birmingham. Through services from south-west Wales, Swansea and Cardiff to Manchester and from Cardiff to Wrexham, Chester, the north coast of Wales and Anglesey constitute the bulk of passenger operations on the route.
Crewe Heritage Centre is a railway museum located in Crewe, England. Managed by the Crewe Heritage Trust, the museum is located between the railway station and the town centre; the site was the location of the 'Old Works' which was demolished in the early 1980s.
Waverton is a village and civil parish on the outskirts of Chester in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It lies about 3 miles (4.8 km) south-east of Chester High Cross, 19 miles (31 km) south of Liverpool and 33 miles (53 km) south west of Manchester. It is almost continuous with the village of Rowton to the north west and that in turn is almost continuous with Christleton. According to the 2011 Census, the population of the parish was 1,587.

Cheshire West and Chester is a borough with unitary authority status in Cheshire, England. It was established on 1 April 2009 as part of the 2009 local government changes, by virtue of an order under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007. It superseded the boroughs of Ellesmere Port and Neston, Vale Royal and the City of Chester; its council assumed the functions and responsibilities of the former Cheshire County Council within its area. The remainder of ceremonial Cheshire is composed of Cheshire East, Halton and Warrington.

The area is largely agricultural and includes a short stretch of the Shropshire Union Canal. There is an Anglican parish church, a primary school and a public house. Nearby villages include Alpraham, Bunbury, Haughton and Wardle. In 2011 the parish had a population of 280.

Malpas railway station was a railway station that served the historic market town of Malpas, Cheshire on the Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway or Chester-Whitchurch Branch Line. The station itself was located at Hampton Heath and was also known locally as Hampton Station.
Middlewich railway station served the Cheshire, England, salt-producing town of Middlewich between 1868 and 1960. It lay on a branch line from Sandbach to Northwich. The Mid Cheshire Rail Users' Association is campaigning for the reopening of the line to passenger traffic, and the construction of a new station at Middlewich.
The Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway was a line in Cheshire built by the London and North Western Railway in the 19th century. The branch, which was 14.5 mi (23.3 km) long, connected the North Wales Coast Line from Chester with the Welsh Marches line and Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch Railway at Whitchurch. Although only a branch line, the route was built to main line standards with double track along its entire length. It was used on occasion to stable the British Royal Train in sidings on the eve of official visits by members of the Royal Family.

Tattenhall railway station was a railway station in the village of Tattenhall, Cheshire on the Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway or Chester-Whitchurch Branch Line, about a mile to the south of Tattenhall junction where the branch line diverged from the North Wales Coast Line running from Chester in the north-west towards Crewe to the south-east.

Black Dog railway station was a station that served the village of Waverton in Cheshire West and Chester, England from 1840 to 1898. It was opened as "Black Dog" but sometimes referred to as "Waverton", It was resited a few metres west in 1898 and the second station lasted until 1959.
