"The Door" is a song by American singer-songwriter Teddy Swims. The song was released on September 15,2023,on his debut studio album I've Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1) as a track. [1] The song was released in April 2024 as the album's third single. [2] [3]
"The Door" was written by Swims,together with John Ryan,John Sudduth,Sherwyn Nicholls,Joshua Coleman,and Julian Bunetta,with the latter two producing the song. The song was described by Swims as about saving his own life and finding the courage to walk out on an abusive relationship that played a part in driving his friends and family out of his life. He further said:"It was so hard to convince myself of that at the moment,but that’s when my priorities shifted from her to me,to saving myself,to loving myself again. ‘The Door’is about believing that you're always going to be okay if you trust in yourself." Swims released "The Door" as part of his debut album, I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) ,as a track on September 15,2023. [5] Days later,Swims uploaded a live version of the song on YouTube. "Here Without You" is a song by American rock band 3 Doors Down. The power ballad was released on July 28, 2003, as the third single from the band's second studio album, Away from the Sun (2002). The song reached No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in November 2003 and was certified double platinum in the US for shipping over 2,000,000 units. "Beggin'" is a song composed by Bob Gaudio and Peggy Farina and first released as a single by American band the Four Seasons in 1967. Initially charting at number 16 in the US Billboard Chart, the song became popular in the Northern soul scene in the United Kingdom in the 1970s. "Play Hard" is a song by French DJ and record producer David Guetta featuring vocals from American singers Ne-Yo and Akon. It was released on 15 March 2013 as the third single from the 2012 re-release of Guetta's fifth studio album, Nothing but the Beat (2011). This is the third collaboration between Guetta and Akon since "Sexy Bitch" in 2009 and "Crank It Up" in 2011. All three artists co-wrote the song along with Frédéric Riesterer and Giorgio Tuinfort, both of whom produced the song with Guetta. "Makeba" is a song by French singer-songwriter Jain, released on 6 November 2015, from her debut studio album, Zanaka. It was written by Jain and produced by her longtime collaborator Maxim Nucci. The refrain of the song used a sample from the 1978 song "Me and the Gang" by the American percussionist, songwriter, arranger, and record producer Hamilton Bohannon. "Makeba" peaked at number seven on the French Singles Chart. It references Miriam Makeba, also known as "Mama Africa", a South African singer and anti-apartheid civil rights activist.
