Tytherington Quarry (grid reference ST662888 ) is a 0.9 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest near the village of Tytherington, South Gloucestershire, notified in 1989.

The quarry is still working, operated by Hanson Aggregates, and is connected by rail on the Thornbury branch line.

The Thornbury branch line is a railway line from Yate to Thornbury in the West of England. From 1963 until mid 2013, it remained as a freight route, serving the quarry at Tytherington. It was designated 'Out of Use (temporary)' by Network Rail from 2013 until 2017, when it reopened to serve Tytherington quarry again. The 7.5-mile (12 km) branch of the Midland Railway line between Bristol and Gloucester opened on 2 September 1872, and started at Yate and finished at Thornbury, with stops at Iron Acton and Tytherington.

Oakiron railway station is the terminus of the 15 in gauge Perrygrove Railway. The line was opened in 1996 and is now open as a heritage railway, passenger trains run round the train via the loop to couple on with the train back down to Perrygrove Station. The station consists of a small waiting shelter, a low platform, a loop and sidings. There are two footpaths from the station into the woods around the line. The line to Oakiron Quarry was near the site of today's sidings, the quarry line closed long before the railway.

Tytherington Old Hall is a former country house in the Tytherington area of Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. It was built in the late 16th century for the Worth family. The building was much altered during the 20th century, and as of 2010 was in use as an office. Since 2006, it has been renovated and converted to a family home. The house is constructed in timber framing on a stone plinth with stone-flagged roofs. The timber-framing includes close studding and herringbone decoration. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Old Burghclere Lime Quarry SSSI is a 4.61 ha biological Site of Special Scientific Interest at Burghclere in Hampshire, notified in 1979. The Lime Quarry was actively worked until the beginning of the 20th century, and since then has been left to nature, resulting in a unique mix of flora and fauna becoming established at the site.
