Universitas Methodist Indonesia (UMI) Medan was named Perguruan Tinggi Methodist Indonesia (PTMI). It was a private university founded by the Methodist Church of Indonesia (GMI) in accordance with the decision of the annual conference which took place in Medan on 31 January 1965. Preparation of UMI officially began on August 1, 1965. PTMI changed its name to UMI on Date 4 September 1969 in accordance with Law No. 22 of 1961 on Higher Education. [3]
The administering agency of UMI is a Methodist church Education Foundation Indonesia Region I that was founded on March 22, 1988, based on Notarial Deed No. 48; it has been amended several times. The last time changes were based on Deed No. 12 on 24 September 2008 tailored to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 in 2001 on the foundation in conjunction with Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 28 of 2004 concerning Amendment to Law Number 16 About the Foundation in 2001. YP GMI Region I registered in the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights with Register Menkumham AHU-AH.01.08-681. [3]
Medan is the capital and largest city of the Indonesian province of North Sumatra, as well as a regional hub and financial centre of Sumatra. According to the National Development Planning Agency, Medan is one of the four main central cities of Indonesia, alongside Jakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar. As of the 2020 Census, Medan has a population of 2,435,252 within its city limits, and over 3.4 million in its built-up urban area, making it the fourth largest urban area in Indonesia. The Medan metropolitan area—which includes neighbouring Binjai, Deli Serdang Regency, and a part of Karo Regency—is the largest metropolitan area outside of Java, with 4,744,323 residents counted in the 2020 Census. Medan is a multicultural metropolis and a busy trading city bordered by the Strait of Malacca, making it one of the major economic cities in Indonesia. A gateway to the western part of Indonesia, Medan is supported by the Port of Belawan and Kualanamu International Airport, both of which are connected to the city centre via toll roads and railways.
Parahyangan Catholic University, also referred to by its acronym UNPAR, is one of the oldest and most prestigious private universities in Indonesia, located in Bandung. The main campus is on Ciumbuleuit street, and other campuses are on Merdeka street, Aceh street and Nias street. Before owning a building on Merdeka street, UNPAR used the "Panti Budaya" building for college activities.

The Krida Wacana Christian University is a private university in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was founded on January 20, 1967, as Universitas Kristen Djaja. UKRIDA was founded in 1967 under the GKI Synod of West Java.
