University of Surabaya (UBAYA) is a university in Rungkut, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. UBAYA is the successor to Trisakti University of Surabaya which was founded in 1966. Its name was changed to the University of Surabaya in 1968. Construction on the campus began on 11 March 1968. [2] The university has three campuses: Ngagel, Tenggilis (both in Surabaya), and Trawas, Mojokerto Regency. Ngagel campus is for diploma program and rectorate building, Rungkut campus is the main campus for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and Trawas campus is for outdoor learning activities. University of Surabaya was awarded Institutional 'A' Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) in 2015 and also noted as one of 50 Promising Indonesian Universities. East Java is a province of Indonesia located in the easternmost third of Java island. Surabaya Intercultural School, is a non-profit, English-medium, college preparatory school in Surabaya, Indonesia for foreign students under the sponsorship of the American consulate. When the school was founded in 1971, it began operation with 24 students, including American, Japanese, Australian, German, and New Zealander students. Today, it is a pre-K through grade 12 school governed by a seven-member school board elected by the foundation consisting of parents of children of the school. The school is the only school in Surabaya accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. SIS graduates go on to four-year college programs in the US, Australia, Singapore or home country universities. The school staff consists of faculty and administration from eight countries. Surabaya European School (SES), Indonesia is a British international school that was established in 1997 as the first Montessori school in Surabaya with an AMI -trained teacher. In 2001, in collaboration with the British International School Jakarta, the school grew to embrace the British National Curriculum. SES subsequently progressed to full Cambridge International Examinations accreditation in 2011 and administered its first on site Cambridge examinations in a newly constructed campus the same year. In 2015, SES adopted the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), to run in unison with the Cambridge International Curriculum, for students in year 2-6.
