Vankal Solar Park is a 20-megawatt solar power plant located in Vankal, Khawzawl district, Mizoram, in Northeast India. [1] It is Mizoram's first and largest photovoltaic power plant.
The power plant is spread over an area of 194 acres (78.5 ha) with 52453 Solar Plate/Module. It has 113 Inverter, 7 Inverter Control Room and 1 Main Control Room. [2] The plant is shaped like a hand, with 15 solar array fingers connected by a perimeter road and a 33 kV transmission line. The plant is built with high-efficiency mono-PERC modules and high-wattage string inverter. The solar park was developed at a cost of Rs 2,107 crore, Rs 1,707 crore from the state and Rs 400 crore from the centre. [3]
The power plant was commissioned on 18 March 2023. Sunfree North East Renewable Energy and ATA Renewable P4 Pvt. Ltd [4] has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with the power and electricity department of the Mizoram government. [5]

The Nellis Solar Power Plant is a 14-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic power station located within Nellis Air Force Base in Clark County, Nevada, northeast of Las Vegas. The power plant was inaugurated in a ceremony on December 17, 2007, with Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons activating its full operation. On average, it has since generated 32 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually and supplied more than 25% of the power used at the base.

The Dhirubhai Ambani Solar Park at Dhursar village near Pokhran in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan is a 40 megawatt (MWAC) photovoltaic power station, set up in 129 days and commissioned in 2012. It is one of a large number of solar parks expected to be built in a 35,000 km2 area of the Thar Desert that has been reserved for solar power projects. The solar park was named after the late Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance Industries, and was constructed using 500,000 Cadmium telluride photovoltaics (CdTe) modules by First Solar, and covers an area of 350 acres.
Bitta Solar Power Plant is a 40-megawatt solar power plant located in Bitta village, Gujarat, in west India. When it was commissioned in early January 2012, it was India's largest photovoltaic power plant.
Tuirial dam is an earthfill and gravity dam on the River Sonai near Kolasib in the state of Mizoram in India. The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power production. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the 60 MW Tuirial Hydro Electric Project (THEP) project costing Rs 913 crore in 2010. The project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 16 December 2017.

Mizoram is one of the fastest growing economies among the states of India with a per capital income of Rs 308571. Mizoram had the second highest GSDP growth during the 11th Five Year Plan (2007–2012) in Northeast India at 11% exceeding the target of 7.8% which is also much higher than the national average of 7.9%. During the 10th Five Year Plan (2002–2007), the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) was expected to grow at around 5.3% but grew at 5.7%. Pavagada Solar Park is a solar park covering an area of 53 square kilometres in Pavagada taluk, Tumkur district, Karnataka. Completed in 2019, the park has a capacity of 2,050 MW. The Bison Solar Plant, also known as the Rawhide Flats Solar Plant, is a 30 megawatt (MWAC) photovoltaic power station in Larimer County, Colorado located about 10 miles (16 km) north of the town of Wellington. The plant is notable for being one of the first in the U.S. built to a 1500 Volt system specification. The electricity is being sold to the Platte River Power Authority (PRPA) under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
