History

Wayfield Foods was founded in 1982 by Ron Edenfield and Ralph Calloway in Lithia Springs, Georgia, U.S.. The name Wayfield a portmanteau of the founders last names, Calloway and Edenfield. [2] In 1989, Edenfield became the owner and president after Calloway left the business. Wayfield Foods introduced an employee stock ownership plan in 1992 to allow associates to be part of the chain. [3]
