(219774) 2001 YY145, provisional designation 2001 YY145 is a stony background asteroid and exceptionally slow rotator from the central region of the asteroid belt, approximately 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) in diameter. It was discovered on 18 December 2001, by astronomers with the Lowell Observatory Near-Earth-Object Search at Anderson Mesa Station near Flagstaff, Arizona, in the United States. [1] The assumed S-type asteroid is likely elongated and has a rarely seen rotation period of 1007 hours, making it the 13th slowest rotator. [5]
2001 YY145 is a non-family asteroid from the main belt's background population. [3] [4] It orbits the Sun in the central main-belt at a distance of 2.2–2.9 AU once every 4 years and 2 months (1,515 days; semi-major axis of 2.58 AU). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.13 and an inclination of 10° with respect to the ecliptic. [2] A first precovery was taken at Lincoln Lab's ETS in October 2001, extending the asteroid's observation arc by 2 months prior to its official discovery observation at Anderson Mesa. [1]
The object is an assumed, common S-type asteroid. [5]
In October 2013, a rotational lightcurve was obtained of this asteroid from photometric observations in the R-band by astronomers at the Palomar Transient Factory in California. It gave a rotation period of 1007.7 hours – or nearly 42 days – with an assigned error margin of ±86 hours. According to the Light Curve Data Base, it is the 13th slowest rotating minor planet known to exist among more than 15,000 observed small Solar System bodies. Due to its high brightness variation of 0.86 magnitude, the body is likely to have a non-spheroidal shape ( U=2 ). [6] As of 2018, no follow-up observation have been published. [5]
The Collaborative Asteroid Lightcurve Link assumes a standard albedo for stony asteroids of 0.20 and calculates a diameter of 1.54 kilometers, based on an absolute magnitude of 16.43. [5]
This minor planet was numbered by the Minor Planet Center on 4 October 2009. [7] As of 2018, it has not been named. [1]
4923 Clarke, provisional designation 1981 EO27, is a stony background asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles) in diameter. It was discovered on 2 March 1981, by American astronomer Schelte Bus at the Siding Spring Observatory in Australia. The spheroidal S-type asteroid has a rotation period of 3.14 hours. It was named after British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke. On the same night, Schelte Bus also discovered 5020 Asimov.
16879 Campai (provisional designation 1998 BH10) is a stony Witt asteroid and slow rotator from the central region of the asteroid belt, approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) in diameter. The S-type asteroid was discovered on 24 January 1998, by Italian astronomers Andrea Boattini and Maura Tombelli at the Pistoia Mountains Astronomical Observatory in San Marcello Pistoiese, Tuscany, central Italy. It was named for Italian amateur astronomer Paolo Campai.
(9942) 1989 TM1 (provisional designation 1989 TM1) is a background asteroid from the central region of the asteroid belt, approximately 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles) in diameter. It was discovered on 8 October 1989, by Japanese astronomers Nobuhiro Kawasato and Tsutomu Hioki at the Okutama Observatory (877) in Japan. The asteroid has a tentative rotation period of 3.1 hours.

It was discovered during the second Palomar–Leiden trojan survey in 1973, and named after German medieval poet Walther von der Vogelweide.

It was discovered on 16 September 1982, by Russian astronomer Lyudmila Chernykh at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, Nauchnyj, on the Crimean peninsula. The asteroid was named for Soviet General Galaktion Alpaidze.
24105 Broughton (provisional designation 1999 VE10) is a background asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 3.7 kilometers (2.3 miles) in diameter. The assumed S-type asteroid was discovered on 9 November 1999, by American amateur astronomer Charles W. Juels at the Fountain Hills Observatory (678) in Arizona, United States. It has a rotation period of 15.9 hours and was named after Australian amateur astronomer John Broughton.
133528 Ceragioli, provisional designation 2003 TC2, is an asteroid of the Koronis family from the outer regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 1.75 kilometers (1.1 miles) in diameter. It was discovered on 4 October 2003 by American astronomer David Healy at the Junk Bond Observatory in Arizona, United States. The likely stony and possibly elongated asteroid has a rotation period of 3.1 hours. It was named for American optician Roger Ceragioli.
2440 Educatio is a Florian asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 6.6 kilometers in diameter. The possibly elongated S-type asteroid has an exceptionally long rotation period of 1561 hours and is one of the slowest rotators known to exist. It was discovered on 7 November 1978, by American astronomers Eleanor Helin and Schelte Bus at the Palomar Observatory in California, and later named "Educatio", the Latin word for Education.
10249 Harz, provisional designation 9515 P-L, is a background asteroid from the central regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 3.5 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 17 October 1960, by Ingrid and Cornelis van Houten at Leiden, and Tom Gehrels at Palomar Observatory in California, United States. The assumed S-type asteroid is likely elongated and has a short rotation period of 3.63 hours. It was named after the German mountain range Harz.
145534 Jhongda, provisional designation 2006 GJ, is an asteroid and member of the stony Merxia family, orbiting in the central region of the asteroid belt, approximately 2–3 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered by Taiwanese astronomers Yang Tingzhang and Ye Quanzhi at the Lulin Observatory on 1 April 2006. The likely elongated asteroid has a rotation period of 4.5 hours. It was named for the Taiwanese National Central University.
9344 Klopstock, provisional designation 1991 RB4, is a background asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt. It was discovered on 12 September 1991, by German astronomers Freimut Börngen and Lutz Schmadel at the Karl Schwarzschild Observatory in Tautenburg, Germany. Poor observational data suggests that the asteroid is one of the darkest known objects with a diameter of approximately 17 kilometers (11 miles), while it is also an assumed stony asteroid with a much smaller diameter. It has a rotation period of 5.84 hours and was named after German poet Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock.

It was discovered on 18 December 1995, by astronomers of the Spacewatch program at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona, United States. The asteroid was named in memory of Swedish astronomer Leif Erland Andersson. The assumed stony asteroid has a rotation period of 3.758 hours.
