The 2015 season was Stabæk's second season back in the Tippeligaen following their relegation in 2012, their 19th season in the top flight of Norwegian football and their second season with Bob Bradley as their manager. Stabæk finished the season in third place, qualifying for the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League First qualifying round. Stabæk also reached the Semifinals of the Norwegian Cup, where they were defeated by Rosenborg in extra time.

The 2015 season is Tromsø's first season back in the Tippeligaen following their relegation in 2013, their 28th season in the top flight of Norwegian football and their second full season with Steinar Nilsen as their manager.

The 2015 season was Viking's third full season with Kjell Jonevret as manager. They are competing in the Tippeligaen and the cup.

The 2015 season is Sandefjord Fotball's 18th season, and their first Tippeligaen season since their relegation in 2010. It is their 2nd season with Lars Bohinen as manager, during which they will compete in the Norwegian Cup as well as the Tippeligaen.

The 2016 Tippeligaen was the 72nd completed season of top-tier football in Norway. The competition began on 11 March 2016. Due to the 2016 UEFA European Championship, there was a break between the rounds played on 29 May and 3 July. The decisive matches of the home-and-away season were played on 6 November 2016. A promotion/relegation play-off between the third-from-bottom team of the Tippeligaen and the winner of the promotion play-offs of the 2016 1. divisjon was contested on 30 November and 4 December 2016.

The 2016 season is Stabæk's third season back in the Tippeligaen following their relegation in 2012, their 20th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. Stabæk finished the previous season in third place, qualifying for the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League First qualifying round.

The 2016 season is Start's 4th season in the Tippeligaen since their promotion back to the league in 2012, and their first season with Steinar Pedersen as manager. Start competed in the Tippeligaen and the Norwegian Cup.

The 2016 season is Sogndal's first season back in the Tippeligaen since their relegation at the end of the 2014 season.

The 2006 season was Molde's 31st season in the top flight of Norwegian football. In Tippeligaen they finished 14th and were relegated to the 2007 Norwegian First Division. Molde also competed in the Norwegian Cup where they were knocked out in the third round by Follo.

The 2018 season is Stabæk's fifth season back in the Eliteserien following their relegation in 2012, their 22nd season in the top flight of Norwegian football.

The 2018 season is IK Start's first season back in the Eliteserien following their relegation at the end of the 2016 season.

The 2020 season was Stabæk's 24th season in the top flight of Norwegian football.
