The 2018 LMP3 Cup Championship was the second season for the British LMP3 Cup. The calendar was announced on 10 November 2017, [1] with the same venues as the previous year, but in a different order. The series will now finish at Silverstone, one month later than in 2017.
Michelin will supply the tyres, a change from Pirelli in 2017, [2] and French manufacturer Norma intends to race its M30 car, which would make it the first non-Ligier JS P3 in the series. [3]

The European Le Mans Series is a European sports car racing endurance series inspired by the 24 Hours of Le Mans race and organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The European Le Mans Series is similar to the former American Le Mans Series (ALMS) based in the United States and Canada that was running with ACO and IMSA between 1999 and 2013. ELMS team champions and runners-up receive an automatic entry to the following year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. Originally titled the Le Mans Endurance Series before becoming simply the Le Mans Series in 2006, the series was renamed once more in 2012, reusing a name previously utilized by IMSA in 2001.
A Le Mans Prototype (LMP) is a type of sports prototype race car used in various races and championships, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series. Le Mans Prototypes were created by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The technical requirements for an LMP include bodywork covering all mechanical elements of the car. As of 2023, there are two classes within Le Mans Prototypes, designated LMP2 and LMP3.

Philip Beauchamp Hanson is a British racing driver who currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series with United Autosports. He started his racing career when he won the Whilton Mill Club Championship in 2014, and has since gone on to claim the Super One British X30 Junior Karting Championship, the 2016–17 Asian Le Mans Series LMP3 Title, Dunlop Endurance Championship in 2016, before becoming the youngest ever top-10 finisher at the famous Le Mans 24 Hour race. Phil secured a drive with United Autosports for the 2018 season, with his first competitive race at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona alongside two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso, and current McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris. He won the 2018–19 Asian Le Mans Series title outright with Paul di Resta in an LMP2 Ligier entered by United Autosports, setting the standard as the youngest-ever overall champion in the series.

It began on 13 April at Circuit Paul Ricard and finished on 26 October at the Algarve International Circuit. It is the fourth 24 Hours of Le Mans-based series created by the ACO, following the American Le Mans Series, the European Le Mans Series and the FIA World Endurance Championship. The four-event season began at the Dubai Autodrome in Dubai on 11 February 2023 and ended at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on 19 February 2023.

It is also the tenth season of the IMSA SportsCar Championship since the merger between the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series in 2014, and the eighth under the sponsorship of WeatherTech. The 2023 season marks an overhaul season for the championship, with a change in class structure and a new race on the season calendar at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The championship began with the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 28 and is scheduled to conclude with the Petit Le Mans on October 14 after 11 races.

Following a change in class structure for the 2024 season, the IMSA SportsCar Championship is poised to see a major expansion of its full-time grid across all of its classes.
