The 2021 FIBA U18 European Challengers were international basketball competitions which took place from 3 to 8 August 2021, replacing the cancelled 2021 FIBA U18 European Championship. [1]

History

The 2020 edition of FIBA U18 European Championship was to be held in Konya, Turkey but was postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Since the pandemic continued in 2021, the FIBA Europe decided to hold alternative format of competition to replace traditional format of U18 European Championship where 16 or more teams gather in one place.

The tournament served as the qualifying tournament for the 2015 FIBA Under-19 World Championship. Turkey also successfully defended their last year's title.

The 2015 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship for Women was the 27th edition of the European championship for women's national under-16 basketball teams. A total of 16 teams participated in the competition, which took place in Matosinhos, Portugal, from 13 to 23 August 2015.

The 2016 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship was an international basketball competition held in Sopron, Hungary, from 23 to 31 July 2016. It was the 33rd edition of the championship, and the FIBA Europe qualifying tournament for the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup. 16 national teams from across Europe, composed of women aged 18 and under, competed in the tournament.

The 2016 FIBA U18 European Championship was the 33rd edition of the FIBA U18 European Championship. The competition was originally scheduled to take place in Samsun, Turkey, from 30 July to 7 August 2016, but was postponed indefinitely due to the political unrest in the country at the time. On 30 September 2016, FIBA decided that the tournament would take place from 16 to 22 December 2016. The top five teams qualified for the 2017 FIBA Under-19 World Championship.

The 2022 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship Division B was the 17th edition of the Division B of the European basketball championship for women's national under-16 teams. The tournament was played from 18 to 27 August 2022 in Podgorica, Montenegro.

The 2022 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship was the 37th edition of the Women's European basketball championship for national under-18 teams. It was played from 6 to 14 August 2022 in Heraklion, Greece. Lithuania women's national under-18 basketball team won the tournament and became the European champions for the second time.

The 2023 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship was the 38th edition of the European basketball championship for women's national under-18 teams. It was played from 1 to 9 July 2023 in Konya, Turkey. Slovenia won the tournament and became the European champions for the first time after beating France 63–61 in the final.
