The 2023 Mexican local elections, held on 4 June 2023, saw voters electing two governors for six-year terms and deputies for one state congress.
In the gubernatorial elections, Morena flipped one state, while the Institutional Revolutionary Party defended its gubernatorial seat. Notably, Delfina Gómez Álvarez (MORENA) defeated Alejandra del Moral Vela (PRI) in the state of Mexico, ending 94 years of PRI rule in the state. [1] [2]

The Labor Party is a political party in Mexico. It was founded on 8 December 1990. The party is currently led by Alberto Anaya.

Ivonne Aracelly Ortega Pacheco is a Mexican politician from Yucatán affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). She is a former governor of Yucatán and a former member of the Chamber of Deputies. She was Yucatan's first elected female governor, although the second to serve, after Dulce María Sauri who served as interim governor from 1991 to 1994. She was the sixth woman to serve as governor of a Mexican state.
Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares is a Mexican politician. He has served three terms in the Chamber of Deputies and was the governor of Veracruz from 2016 to 2018. Most recently he served for the space of a few hours as an alternate senator for the state of Veracruz. He has been a member of both the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), from which he resigned, and the National Action Party (PAN), from which he was expelled.

Members of del Mazo's family have collectively governed the State of Mexico for 23 years, starting with his grandfather Alfredo del Mazo Vélez (1945-1951); then followed by his father Alfredo del Mazo González (1981-1986) and his cousin Enrique Peña Nieto (2005-2011); adding Arturo Montiel, Peña Nieto's uncle, the del Mazo family's rule extends to 29 years.

José Ramón Gómez Leal is a Mexican politician affiliated with the National Regeneration Movement party. He was a local deputy of the Congress of Tamaulipas from 2010 to 2013 for the National Action Party. As well as Delegate of Development Programs in the state of Tamaulipas from 2018 to 2021. In 2023 he was elected as Senator of the Republic for the LXV Legislature of the Congress of the Union.
Cristóbal Arias Solís is a Mexican lawyer and politician, belonging to the National Regeneration Movement (Morena). He has been a senator of the Republic three times: from 1988 to 1991, 1994 to 2000, and from 2018 to 2021. He also served as a federal deputy from 1982 to 1985 and from 1991 to 1994. He has been a candidate for governor of Michoacán on three occasions for the Party of the Democratic Revolution and the Fuerza por México alliance. Since 5 July 2021, he is a senator to the Congress of the Union for Michoacán.
