2024 Basketball Champions League Asia qualifying rounds

The qualification rounds for the 2024 Basketball Champions League Asia began on 3 April 2024 and will have two teams advance to the main tournament. [1] It was the first games under the new BCL entity.

The following eight teams qualified on the following sporting merit. Numbers in brackets show the number of team each association was given.

Round 1

Eight clubs consisting of champions and runners-up of domestic leagues from East and South East Asia will compete in the April 3–7 tilt to be held at the UG Arena in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. [1]

The placement of the clubs in the groups was based on FIBA Men's World Ranking. [2]

Round 2

The second round will be played from 23 to 26 April 2024 in Jakarta, Indonesia, in a single round-robin format with the four teams that advanced from the first round. Points from Round 1 are not carried into this round. [2] The top two teams advance to the main tournament of the 2024 Basketball Champions League Asia. The 2022 Indonesian Basketball League was the seventh season since the re-branding by Starting5. After successfully implemented the "bubble" system in last year's season, IBL decided to return into the Series format with the supporters are returning into stadium. The season would be held with implementing strict health protocols that recommended by the government. The regular season began on 15 January 2022 and was suspended on 2 February 2022 until 3 March 2022, then the remaining series at the regular season in Yogyakarta, Solo, Surabaya, Denpasar, as well as the post season in Bandung has been cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The series return again to "bubble" after many players get Covid-19.

The 2024 Basketball Champions League Asia will be the first edition of the Basketball Champions League Asia, and the 29th season of the continent's top club competition. The tournament was previously known as the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, and was last held in 2019. The main tournament is scheduled to take place at Dubai, UAE in 9 until 15 June 2024. It is organized by the UAE Basketball Association and Shabab Al Ahli Club and sanctioned by FIBA Asia.

The Perbanas Rhinos Men's Basketball team represents Perbanas Institute in Jakarta, Indonesia. They are a member of the Liga Mahasiswa (LIMA).

Khasin Khuleguud, internationally known as Ulaanbaatar Xac Broncos, are a Mongolian professional basketball team based in Ulaanbaatar.
