The 2024 LSU Tigers baseball team will represent Louisiana State University during the upcoming 2024 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Tigers will play their home games at Alex Box Stadium.

LSU will enter the 2024 as the defending national champions.

Previous season

The Tigers finished 54–17, 19–10 in the SEC to finish in second place in the Western division. The Tigers went 1–2 in the 2022 Southeastern Conference baseball tournament. The Tigers were seeded first in the Baton Regional, and fifth overall, of the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, where they swept the regional with wins over Tulane and Oregon State. In the Baton Rouge Super Regional, the Tigers hosted Kentucky, where they swept them in two games. The Tigers qualified for the College World Series for the 19th time in program history, where they reached the final thanks to wins over Tennessee and top-seeded Wake Forest.

In the final, they beat Florida two games to one to win their seventh national title, and their first since 2009. [2] LSU pitcher, Paul Skenes, was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player. Additionally, Ty Floyd, Tre' Morgan, Gavin Dugas, Tommy White, Dylan Crews, and Cade Beloso were named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team. [3]

He then served as the head coach of the St. Thomas Bobcats (1983–1988), the Air Force Falcons (1989–1994), the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1995–2006) and the LSU Tigers (2007–2021). The Gators competed in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They played their home games at Alfred A. McKethan Stadium, on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus. The team was coached by Kevin O'Sullivan, who was in his sixth season at Florida. The Gators entered the season looking to build upon their appearance in the 2012 College World Series, where they were eliminated after two consecutive losses to South Carolina and Kent State.

The 2013 UCLA Bruins baseball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Bruins competed in the Pac-12 Conference, and played their home games in Jackie Robinson Stadium. John Savage served as head coach for his 9th season. The Bruins swept through the NCAA tournament's Los Angeles Regional, Fullerton Super Regional, and College World Series bracket to reach the final against Mississippi State, their second appearance in four years. The Bruins swept the Bulldogs in a best of three series to win their first NCAA National Championship in baseball, while going a perfect 10–0 in the postseason; the third consecutive NCAA Division I baseball team to sweep the postseason en route to the championship, and also the last to do so.

The 2009 Texas Longhorns baseball team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Longhorns played their home games at UFCU Disch–Falk Field. Texas finished the regular season as the #1 team in the Big 12 Conference and the #5 team nationally. The Longhorns won the 2009 Big 12 Conference baseball tournament to earn an automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, defeating the Missouri Tigers 12–7 in the final. Texas was selected as the #1 seed in the Austin super regional, and as the #1 National Seed overall. Texas went 5–1 in the Regionals, with their one loss coming to TCU in the super regional. They defeated the Horned Frogs in the regional final to advance to the College World Series, marking their 32nd appearance all-time, and first since 2005.
