The 2024 Nepal Premier League (NPL) (also known as Siddhartha Bank NPL 2024 for sponsorship reasons) [1] [2] will be the inaugural season of the Nepal Premier League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league in Nepal. [3] [4] The tournament will feature 8 teams competing in 32 matches from 30 November to 21 December 2024 (15 Mangsir to 6 Poush 2081 BS). [5] [6] [7] [8]
The auctions for team ownership was held on September 5, 2024. Pokhara was the most expensive team, costing over NPR 3,57,00,000. [9] For the inaugural NPL season, each team had a salary cap of रू 90 lakh (US$67,000) for domestic auction. Eight Marquee players were listed form draw on 14 September 2024. [10] [11] Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Malla, Aasif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Rohit Paudel, Kushal Bhurtel and Dipendra Singh Airee were classified as Marquee players.

Pokhara Premier League was a franchise Twenty20 cricket tournament held in Nepal. The tournament was managed by the Queen's Event Management. It was an auction-based tournament.
Cricket in Nepal has gained popularity over the years and has become the country's one of the most popular and widely followed sport. It rapidly grew popularity in the mid 2010s, following the slight successes of the Nepalese cricket team as well as the country's explosive rise in social media and television viewing influence from neighboring country India. It is played by many people throughout the country, especially in the Terai region. The biggest cricketing achievement of the national cricket team was when the team reached the qualification tournament of 2014 ICC World T20 held in Bangladesh. Nepal's playing season runs from September to November and starts again in March before finishing in May. As of October 2023, there were 3400 senior cricket clubs and over 35000 registered players in Nepal.
Sompal Kami is a Nepalese professional cricketer. Kami is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He is one of the eleven cricketers to play in Nepal's first ever One Day International (ODI) match, against the Netherlands, in August 2018. In January 2019, he became the first bowler for Nepal to take a five-wicket haul in an ODI.
Everest Premier League (EPL) was a franchise Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by EPL Pvt. Ltd., a private group in Nepal. It was the biggest cricket tournament in the country, played during the northern winter calendar, mostly in the month of December. It was played in round-robin format in which top four teams qualify for the playoffs. The tournament was renowned for having high attendance among the domestic cricket of the ICC associate nations. The first edition of the tournament was held in September 2016 with six franchises consisting of domestic and international players. Chitwan Tigers are the defending champions after winning the 2021 season. From 2024 Nepal Premier League replaces the league.

The inaugural season is set to be held from 15 Mangsir to 6 Poush 2081 BS (30 November to 21 December 2024). The tournament will use a round-robin format, with the top teams advancing to the playoffs.

Seven franchises participated in the tournament played at the Dasharath Rangasala from 24 April to 15 May 2021. Kathmandu Rayzrs won the title after beating Dhangadhi FC in the final on 15 May 2021.

Nepal participated at the 2022 Asian Games, which was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, from 23 September 2023 to 8 October 2023. The event was originally scheduled from 10 to 25 September 2022 but due to COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in China the event has been postponed and rescheduled to September-October 2023.
The Nepal T20 League was a Nepalese men's Twenty20 cricket league which was established by the Cricket Association of Nepal in 2022. The only edition of the tournament was held from 24 December 2022 to 11 January 2023, before it was scrapped and replaced by the Nepal Premier League.

He has played in different leagues including Nepal T20 League, EPL for different teams like Biratnagar Kings, Pokhara Rhinos, Armed Police Force, Kathmandu Golden, Gandaki Province and Lumbini All Stars. He also played for Greenvale Kangaroos in Victorian Premier League.
The 2023 Nepal Super League was the second season of the Nepal Super League, the top flight franchise based club football league of Nepal. A total of nine franchises participated in the tournament played at the Dasharath Rangasala from 24 November to 30 December 2023. Kathmandu Rayzrs had won the inaugural season after beating Dhangadhi FC in the final on 15 May 2021. In addition to the seven founding members, three new franchises were added. Jhapa FC represented Jhapa, Sporting Ilam De Mechi FC Ilam, and Birgunj United FC Birgunj. One of the founding members, Biratnagar City, decided to withdraw from the tournament, resulting in only nine teams participating in this edition. Lalitpur City FC became the champions of the second edition of this Nepal Super League. The losing finalist once again were Dhangadhi FC.
Surya Tamang is a Nepalese cricketer who plays as a left arm off-spin bowler. He has played in different leagues including NepalT20, EPL,Dhangadhi Premier League for different teams like Biratnagar Super Kings, Lalitpur Patriots, Armed Police Force, Kathmandu Golden Warriors & Rapti team in Gautam Buddha Cup 2020. He had also been a part of Under-19s in 2018 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup and 2019 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup. In 2022, Tamang was adjudged as emerging player of the tournament in the inaugural Nepal T20 League. Soon, he got the maiden call up for the National team for the home Tri-Series against Namibia and Scotland under CWC League 2 in February 2023. He was adjudged Player of the Tournament in 2024 Prime Minister Cup where he took a record 30 wickets in 9 matches representing Bagmati Province cricket team. Tamang became the 38th player to represent Nepal national cricket team in ODI when he made his debut against the Canada.
