June 15 – A judge rules that a Petersburg man named Dan J. Sullivan, who shares the same name as incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan and is running against him in the senate election, is ineligible for the ballot because his candidacy "was not filed in order to declare an actual good-faith candidacy for the office of United States Senator, but was instead filed with a purpose to confuse or mislead and to thereby compromise the ballot's fairness or neutrality."[6]
June 26 – A superior court judge reinstates Dan J. Sullivan to the ballot, ruling that the earlier "good faith" declaration was not based on the Constitution, state law, or other regulations.[7]
August 26 – Four men, including former Bethel mayor Eric Middlebrook, are killed in a plane crash near Seldovia.[9][10]
