Albalate del Arzobispo is a municipality located in the province of Teruel, Aragon, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality had a population of 2,180 inhabitants.

Monuments

This is a beautiful town of Moorish origin, although the remains have been found near dizygotic (s. VI). Noted for its steep streets and its well-preserved Gothic castle. It also stresses the Church of the Assumption of the fifteenth century, the oil mill and the Chapel of Arcos, among many other attractions. He belonged to the miter Zaragoza for over six centuries since it was donated in 1149. The houses are arranged around a hill crowned by the castle-palace, which was the episcopal residence.

The Ruta del Tambor y el Bombo is a celebration of Easter and the Passion of Christ that takes place in nine towns in south-eastern Aragon (Spain), in the province of Teruel: Albalate del Arzobispo, Alcañiz, Alcorisa, Andorra, Calanda, Híjar, la Puebla de Híjar, Samper de Calanda and Urrea de Gaén. During the Holy Week, a number of residents of those towns wear a special tunic and play either the drum or the bass drum at specified moments, also marching during processions. The combination of all the drums playing simultaneously creates a remarkably loud din.

The Brigade of Death was a unit of the confederal militias that acted at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War in the republican rear. Officially it was the investigation brigade of the South Ebro Column, a column of anarchist militiamen that Antonio Ortiz had led from Barcelona. Its leader was Pascual Fresquet and it was made up of some forty militiamen linked to the Barcelona Federación Anarquista Ibérica (FAI).
