Albert Park/Radisson Heights is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the west by the Bow River and Deerfoot Trail, to the north by Memorial Drive and to the south by 17 Avenue SE. The community of Forest Lawn lies to the east.
This community, established in 1910, enjoys ample open space, is well provided with public and separate schools, has good access to shopping and citywide transportation routes, and has views of the Bow River Valley, the Downtown and the Canadian Rockies.
The community has an area redevelopment plan in place [3] and is part of the International Avenue Business Revitalization Zone.
It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 9 councillor. [1]
In the City of Calgary's 2012 municipal census, Albert Park/Radisson Heights had a population of 6,234 living in 2,709 dwellings, a 0.3% increase from its 2011 population of 6,217. [4] With a land area of 2.5 km2 (0.97 sq mi), it had a population density of 2,490/km2 (6,460/sq mi) in 2012. [5] [4]
Residents in this community had a median household income of $38,019 in 2000. [6] As of 2000, 25.9% of the residents were immigrants. A proportion of 40.2% of the buildings were condominiums or apartments, and 58% of the housing was used for renting. [2]
Albert Park and Radisson Heights are close to Downtown Calgary. Inglewood, Fort Calgary Historic Park and the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, are just moments away. The Max Bell Centre (ice hockey arena) is located immediately west of Radisson Heights.
In 2002, Radisson Heights was the first community in Calgary to have its own Wi-Fi internet service and was managed by WestNet Wireless. [7]
This neighbourhood has one public elementary school: Radisson Park Elementary School (K-5) built in 2006. There were two other elementary schools that were closed and merged into Radisson Park Elementary School, angering some southwest residents who have no community elementary schools.
Beltline is a region of central Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The area is located immediately to the south of Calgary's downtown, and is sometimes considered part of downtown. The neighbourhood is bounded on the south by 17th Avenue, on the west by 14th Street West and on the east by the Elbow River. Hillhurst is a community located within the inner city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The boundaries of the community are 8th Avenue NW to the north, 10th Street NW to the east, the Bow River to the south, and 18th Street NW to the west. The communities of Hillhurst and the neighbouring Sunnyside together form the Hillhurst-Sunnyside Community Association. The two communities have an area redevelopment plan in place, revised in 2009.
Hounsfield Heights/Briar Hill is an inner suburban neighbourhood in northwest Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Located north of the Hillhurst and West Hillhurst communities, the boundaries of the district are 16th Avenue N to the north; 14th Street W to the east; Lane north of 7th Avenue N to 19th Street W and 8th Avenue N to the south; and Crowchild Trail, 12th Avenue N, Juniper Road, and 22nd Street W to the west. Lions Park C-Train station and North Hill Centre are located within the community. In the early 90s, a gas station located in the North Hill Centre parking lot was found to have been leaking fuel, contaminating the soil and groundwater in Hounsfield Heights with benzene and 1,2-Dichloroethane. The community is built on an escarpment and is popular for its views of downtown to the south and the Rocky Mountains to the west.
Montgomery is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. Its boundaries are Shaganappi Trail to the east, 32nd Avenue and Market Mall to the north, and the Bow River to the south and west. Immediately across the river to the west is the community of Bowness, itself a town until being annexed by Calgary in 1964.
Forest Lawn is a neighbourhood and former town in the southeast quadrant of the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The neighbourhood is bound by 26 Avenue SE to the south, 36 Street SE to the west, 8 Avenue SE to the north and portions of 52 Street SE and 48 Street SE to the east. The former town comprises the entire current Forest Lawn neighbourhood as well as portions of Southview and Albert Park/Radisson Heights to the west, and portions of Penbrooke Meadows and Forest Lawn Industrial to the east. Both the neighbourhood and the former town are bisected by the multicultural 17 Avenue SE. Forest Lawn has an area redevelopment plan in place and is part of the International Avenue Business Revitalization Zone.

It is bounded to the south by the Bow River, to the east by Deerfoot Trail, to the west by Edmonton Trail and to the north by the community of Renfrew.

Renfrew is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located south of the Trans-Canada Highway, and north of the inner city community of Bridgeland. To the east it is bordered by the Nose Hill Creek and the Deerfoot Trail and is separated from Crescent Heights to the west by Edmonton Trail.
Winston Heights/Mountview is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by 32 Avenue to the north, the Nose Creek and Deerfoot Trail to the east, Trans-Canada Highway to the south and Edmonton Trail to the west. Fox Hollow Golf Course and The Winston Golf Club are developed at the eastern edge of the neighbourhood.

Douglasglen is located in the northern area, north of Deerfoot Trail.

Rundle is home to a large Lebanese group.
St. Andrews Heights is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by the Trans-Canada Highway, to the east by Crowchild Trail, to the south by Toronto Crescent, and to the west by 29 Street. The Foothills Medical Centre occupies the northwestern corner of the community, and McMahon Stadium and the Foothills Athletic Park borders to the northeast. The Bow River flows immediately south of the neighbourhood.
