Anungu schools is a group of ten schools operated by the Government of South Australia which are located in the west of the Australian state of South Australia in the Aboriginal lands of Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara, Maralinga Tjarutja and Yalata and which offer primary and secondary schooling to a local body of students who are largely Indigenous.
Amata Anangu School ( 26°09′12″S131°08′47″E / 26.153228°S 131.146357°E ) is located in the community of Amata. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 92 students of which 84% were indigenous and a teaching staff of 15. [1] [2]
Ernabella Anangu School ( 26°17′09″S132°08′04″E / 26.285753°S 132.134321°E ) is located in the community of Pukatja. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 147 students of which 93% were indigenous and a teaching staff of 16. [3] [4]
Fregon Anangu School ( 26°45′57″S132°01′38″E / 26.765782°S 132.027335°E ) is located in the community of Kaltjiti. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 57 students of which 84% were indigenous and a teaching staff of eight. [5] [6]
Indulkana Anangu School ( 26°58′01″S133°18′32″E / 26.967008°S 133.308889°E ) is located in the community of Iwantja. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 89 students of which 84% were indigenous and a teaching staff of eight. [7] [8]
Kenmore Park Anangu School ( 26°19′44″S132°26′42″E / 26.328759°S 132.444995°E ) is located in the community of Yunyarinyi. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 10 students of which 70% were indigenous and a teaching staff of three. [9] [10]
Mimili Anangu School ( 27°00′28″S132°42′27″E / 27.007709°S 132.707399°E ) is located in the community of Mimili. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 67 students of which 94% were indigenous and a teaching staff of 10. [11] [12]
Murputja Anangu School ( 26°09′39″S130°10′55″E / 26.160906°S 130.181841°E ) is located in the community of Murputja. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 26 students who were all indigenous and a teaching staff of five. [13] [14]
Pipalyatjara Anangu School ( 26°09′50″S129°10′15″E / 26.163831°S 129.170736°E ) is located in the community of Pipalyatjara. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 63 students of which 95% were indigenous and a teaching staff of nine. [15] [16]
Oak Valley Anangu School 29°24′10″S130°44′18″E / 29.402884°S 130.738411°E ) is located in the community of Oak Valley. It was formerly known as the Oak Valley Aboriginal School and was renamed on 19 July 2010 to include the word "anangu" which means "person, especially Aboriginal". In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of seven students who are all indigenous and a teaching staff of five. [17] [18]
Yalata Anangu School ( 31°28′59″S131°50′21″E / 31.48319°S 131.839199°E ) is located in the community of Yalata. The school which was previously known as the Yalata Aboriginal School was opened in 1962. In 2018, the school offered Reception to Year 12, had a total enrolment of 80 students who were all indigenous and a teaching staff of ten. [19] [20]

The Everard Ranges, officially known as The Everard Ranges, is a range of low rounded granite hills located in the Australian state of South Australia in the Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands about 80 kilometres (50 mi) west of Mintabie. It is of Palaeocene origin between 20 and 60 million years ago, in Central Australia. Rising into domes above a Cenozoic peneplain, which is here about 550 metres (1,800 ft) above sea level., they were named by Ernest Giles. after a cattle station called "Everard Park", and consist of monoliths or bornhardts, rich in caves and overhangs with Aboriginal rock painting galleries. The ranges are similar to Uluru and Kata Tjuta.
The Indulkana Range is a range of hills in the northwest of South Australia. It is sometimes called the Mount Chandler Range after its highest peak. It is located to the southwest of Indulkana, on the Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands. The mountains of the Indulkana area are part of the traditional country of the Yankunytjatjara and Antakarinya.

Tarnanthi is a Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art held in Adelaide, South Australia, annually. Presented by the Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA) in association with the South Australian Government and BHP, it alternates between a city-wide festival in one year and an exhibition at AGSA in other years.It includes an annual Art Fair as well as artist talks, performances and events. It seeks to present Indigenous Australian history and culture as a legacy to be shared by all Australians, showcasing the expansiveness of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art "on a scale that hasn’t been seen before”.
