These are the official results of the Men's javelin throw event at the 1994 European Championships in Helsinki, Finland, held at Helsinki Olympic Stadium on 7 and 8 August 1994. There were a total number of 26 participating athletes. The defending European Champion Steve Backley retained his title and set a championship record in the final round, using an enhanced javelin model.

The men's javelin throw event at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Soviet Union had 18 competitors in one qualifying group. The qualifying round was staged on July 26, with the automatic qualifying mark set at 80.00 metres (262.47 ft). Twelve advanced to the final, which took place the following day.

Sean Furey is an American Olympic javelin thrower with a personal best of 83.08 meters. He has placed in the top three at the U.S. National Championships six times, winning the javelin event in 2010, 2014 and 2015. He represented the United States in international competition between 2009 and 2016, including 2 Olympic, 2 World Championship and 2 Pan American teams. In 2009, at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany, Sean qualified for the final with a season best throw and ultimately finished 12th.

He became the first Asian to win a gold in javelin at the World Championships after his win in 2023. Chopra has won gold medals in every major tournament. He has a podium finish streak in 24 consecutive competitions, dating back to 2020. Since his performance at the 2016 World U20 Championship, he continues to hold the junior javelin throw world record.

The competitors were divided in 67 teams composed of mixed athletes from different NOCs, gender and disciplines aiming to be balanced in strength. In the preparation phase there are ten athletes in competition phases there are 8 athletes.
