Basque Country national rugby union team (Basque: Euskadiko errugbi selekzioa) is the national and/or representative rugby union team of the Basque Country. It is also sometimes referred to as the Basque Selection. They made their international debut on 14 May 1983 against Wales while the latter were on a tour of Spain. The Basque Country lost this game 3–24. Since 1985 the team has been organised by the Basque Rugby Federation.
Since making their international debut against Wales in 1983, the Basque Country has regularly played international friendlies. They have also played regular friendlies against Basque club teams, including Aviron Bayonnais and Biarritz Olympique, and against touring club and provincial teams, including Ulster and Leinster. Since 1983–84 the Basque Country have competed in the Spanish Regions Championship, featuring other teams, such as Catalonia, representing the autonomous communities of Spain. This competition is organised by the Spanish Rugby Federation. The Basque Country were the inaugural winners of this competition. Since 2001–02 they have also competed in the European Regions Championship. [1] [3] On 8 December 2011 the Basque Country also played a Lisbon XV in the final of the Iberian Regions Cup, losing 22–30. [4]

There are many other international footballers with Basque heritage, for example: Lisandro Arbizu, Federico Martín Aramburú, Carlos Arboleya, Marcos Ayerza, Jerónimo Etcheverry, Mariano Galarza, Juan Manuel Leguizamón, Juan Menchaca, Diego Ormaechea, and Guido Petti Pagadizábal.
Euskaltel–Euskadi was a professional road bicycle racing team from Spain, Europe. The team was commercially sponsored, but was also partly funded by the Basque Government until the end of 2013, with riders either from the Basque Country, Navarre, La Rioja, and the French Basque Country, or who had grown up in the cycling culture of those regions: This policy was abandoned to enable retention of World Tour status. Its sponsor was Euskaltel, a Basque telecom company. Euskaltel–Euskadi was famous for its all-orange team kits. Whenever the Tour de France passed through the Basque Country many spectators lined the route dressed in the team's orange or the colours of the Basque flag. The Euskaltel team also has a second team inside the "Fundacion Euskadi", this team rode in a continental category, the name of the team was Orbea. This team was created with the aim of forming the young cyclist before going to the Euskaltel–Euskadi.
The Basque Country national football team represents the Basque Country in football. It selects players from the Basque Country autonomous community, Navarre and the French Basque Country and is organised by the Basque Football Federation. It is not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA and therefore only allowed to play friendly matches against FIFA or non-FIFA affiliated teams.

Athletic Club "B", commonly known as Bilbao Athletic, is the reserve team of Athletic Club, a football club based in Bilbao, in the autonomous community of Basque Country in Spain. The team are playing in the Segunda Federación – Group 2. Founded in 1964, the team holds home matches at the small stadium attached to the club's training facility at Lezama, holding 3,250 spectators or occasionally at San Mamés Stadium, with its 53,500-seat capacity, for important fixtures.

It is organised by the Basque Rugby Federation and has been active since 1994–95. Unlike the men's team, the Basque Country women's team have only played a small number of international games. They regularly play friendlies against club and provincial teams.
The Spanish Regions Championship is a rugby union competition in Spain featuring the representative teams of the autonomous communities. The competition is organised by the Spanish Rugby Federation. The Basque Country were the inaugural winners in 1983–84. They are also the competitions most successful team. The competition is usually played as a knockout tournament. However it has occasionally adopted a league system.
