Born in the Wild is the upcoming debut studio album by Nigerian singer Tems. [1] [2] It is set to be released on 7 June 2024, via RCA Records and Since '93. The album has yielded the singles "Me & U", "Not an Angel", and "Love Me JeJe". [3] [4] [5]

Background

In 2020, Tems released her debut EP For Broken Ears and it was followed by her sophomore EP If Orange Was a Place . [6] In 2021, Tems received critical international recognition after being featured on the song "Essence" by Wizkid. Shortly after, Her song "Free Mind" from her debut EP For Broken Ears impacted Rhythmic contemporary radio as a single and charted across the United States. She further achieved success with her collaborations with Future on "Wait for U" alongside Drake, Beyoncé' on "Move" alongside Grace Jones and Rihanna as a songwriter on "Lift Me Up", the latter earned her an Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards nominations. In a tweet in 2022, Tems announced that her debut studio album was scheduled for release in 2023. The album was delayed for unknown reasons with Tems releasing two singles "Me & U" and "Not an Angel". [7] [8] In March 2024, Tems told Billboard magazine that the album was finished and that it would released in 2024. [9] [10] Shortly afterwards, a private listening session for the album was held in Lagos, Nigeria. [11] While performing at her debut Coachella set in April, Tems officially announced that the album was ready and performed a rendition of "Love Me JeJe", an unreleased song off the album. [12] A day later, the album's title was revealed along with a trailer. [12]

Made in Lagos is the fourth studio album by Nigerian singer Wizkid. It was released on 30 October 2020 by Starboy Entertainment and RCA Records. The album features guest appearances from Burna Boy, Skepta, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Tay Iwar, Projexx, Tems, Damian Marley, Terri and was executive produced by P2J. The deluxe edition was released on 27 August 2021. It features additional guest appearances from Buju and Justin Bieber. In support of the album, Wizkid embarked on the Made in Lagos Tour (2021–2022). The album received a nomination at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Album.

It spawned front several hits in 2022, including "Higher" which was sampled on Future's number one Billboard Hot 100 hit "Wait for U" and "Free Mind" which debuted on the chart, gaining Tems her first solo appearance.

If Orange Was a Place is the second extended play by Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer Tems. It was produced primarily by GuiltyBeatz, along with production from Jonah Christian, and was released on 15 September 2021 by Since '93 and RCA. "Free Mind" is a song by Nigerian singer and record producer Tems. It first appeared on 25 September 2020 as the third track from Tems's debut extended play, For Broken Ears. Tems wrote and produced the song alongside co-producer Omeiza. The song debuted on 2 April 2022 at number 5 on the then newly launched Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.

 "Higher" is a song by Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer Tems. It was released through Leading Vibes as the fifth track from Tems debut extended play, For Broken Ears, on September 25, 2020. It was produced by Tems alongside Tejiri Akpoghene.
