Cameron Christopher David Chalmers (born 6 February 1997) is a Guernsey born British track and field sprinter who specialises in the 400 metres. The Guernsey record-holder for the 400 metres, he currently competes for both Guernsey and Great Britain.
Born in Guernsey, Chalmers was educated at Elizabeth College and began running with the local Guernsey Island Amateur Athletic Club in 2010. Chalmers competed in a variety of running events in 2013 before focusing on 400 m events from 2014 onwards. [5] After leaving school, Chalmers secured a place at the University of Bath, where he would train under Dan Cossins. [6] In 2015, Chalmers made his first junior appearance for Great Britain, competing in the under-20 4 × 400 m event at the Loughborough International. [7] Chalmers won gold medals in both the 400 m and 4 × 400 m events while representing Guernsey at the 2015 Island Games. [8]
In 2016, Chalmers competed at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, [9] where he set a then personal best of 46.51 seconds in the semifinals; he narrowly missed out on the finals, eventually finishing in 9th. [10] Representing Bath in the 400 m final at the 2017 BUCS Championships, Chalmers won his fourth consecutive BUCS 400 m title. His winning time of 45.71 broke the seventeen-year-old championship record, and set a new Guernsey record. [11] In June later that year, Chalmers improved his own Guernsey record time, setting a new personal best of 45.64 as he won the 400 m final at the U23 England Athletics Championships in Bedford. [12]
Ahead of the 2017 Island Games, Chalmers announced he was pulling out in order to focus on making selection for Great Britain at the 2017 World Championships. In July that year, Chalmers was named in the Great Britain relay squad, [13] representing the team at the 2017 European Team Championships held in Lille, before being called up for the relay squad at the 2017 World Championships. [14] On 10 February 2019, Chalmers won gold at the 2019 British Indoor Athletics Championships to take his first senior British 400 m title. [15] The time was a personal indoor best of 46.26 and saw him qualify for the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships. [16] On 27 December 2019, Athletics Weekly ranked Chalmers as the third best 400 m runner in their UK men's merit rankings for 2019. [17]

Chalmers' younger brother Alastair Chalmers is also a track and field athlete, specialising in the 400 metres hurdles. [18] [19] Their father Chris works with the Guernsey Athletics Club. [19]
Team Bath is the University of Bath's sporting organisation. In addition to entering teams in BUCS intervarsity competitions, Team Bath has also entered teams in national leagues and competitions. Team Bath F.C. reached the first round proper of the 2002–03 FA Cup. They become the first university team to reach this stage since Oxford University A.F.C. in 1880. In 2005–06 the netball team were both founder members and the inaugural champions of the Netball Superleague. They were Superleague champions again in 2006–07, 2008–09, 2009–10 and 2013. The field hockey club enter a team in the Men's England Hockey League.
Christine Ijeoma Ohuruogu, MBE is a British former track and field athlete who specialised in the 400 metres, the event for which she is an Olympic, World and Commonwealth champion. The Olympic champion in 2008, and silver medalist in 2012, she is a double World Champion, having won the 400 m at the 2007 and 2013 World Championships. She has also won six World championship medals in the women's 4 × 400 m relay as part of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team and bronze Olympic medals in the women's 4 × 400 m relay at the 2008 Beijing Games and the 2016 Rio Games, her final Olympics. Ohuruogu shares with Merlene Ottey and Usain Bolt the record for medalling in most successive global championships – 9 – between the 2005 World Championships in Athletics and the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Gregory James Rutherford MBE is a retired British track and field athlete who specialised in the long jump. He represented Great Britain at the Olympics, World and European Championships, and England at the Commonwealth Games. In September 2021 Rutherford was selected as part of the British bobsleigh team but was injured during preparations to qualify for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Richard Thomas Buck is a former British sprinter who specialised in the 400 metres event. He is from York, and trains in Loughborough. Buck's current club is City of York A.C.. Previously, he had an 18-month spell at Scarborough A.C. He has been trained by his grandfather, Geoff Barraclough, and is now coached by Nick Dakin.

Peirresha Alexandra Shakes-Drayton is a British retired track and field athlete. After specialising in the 400 metres hurdles in the early part of her career, a knee injury at the 2013 World Championships forced Shakes-Drayton to concentrate on the 400 metres on her return to athletics. She is the 2013 European Indoor Champion in the 400 metres and won a 2012 World Indoor Championship gold medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay. She has also won silver and bronze medals in the 4 × 400 m relay at the World Championships.
Eilidh Doyle is a retired British track and field athlete. Originally running as Eilidh Child, she specialised in the 400 metres hurdles outdoors, and the 400 metres flat indoors, as well as the 4 x 400 metres relay on both surfaces. She represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. Individually, she is the 2014 European Champion and a three-time Commonwealth silver medalist in the 400 metres hurdles.
Andrew William Pozzi is a retired British hurdling athlete. He was the 2018 indoor World Champion at 60 metres hurdles. He was the 2012 UK 60m and 110m Champion and holds the record for the fastest ever time run by a UK junior hurdler. The record time, 13.29 seconds, was set on 3 July 2011 in Mannheim, Germany at the Bauhaus Junior Gala.
Jack Green is a British sprint athlete who specialises in the 400m distance, along with the hurdles and the 4 × 400 m relay. He competed for the Great Britain team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Laura Muir is a Scottish middle- and long-distance runner. She is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medallist in the 1500 metres, having previously finished seventh in the event at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Muir won the bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships, and has three other top five placings in 1500 m finals at the World Athletics Championships, finishing fifth in 2015, fourth in 2017 and fifth in 2019. She is a two-time European 1500 m champion from 2018 and 2022 as well as the 2022 Commonwealth Games 1500 m champion and 800 metres bronze medallist.
Jazmin Sawyers is a British track and field athlete and sports presenter who competes in the long jump, representing Great Britain and England. In 2023, she won her first major senior title at the 2023 European Indoor Championships.
Guy Learmonth is a Scottish and Great British athlete specialising in the 800 metres. His PB currently stands as 1:44.73 and he is the 3rd fastest Scottish 800m athlete of all time. Learmonth reached the final at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 European Indoor Championships, finishing 6th in both. He was named the GB&NI captain for the European Indoor Championships in 2019. Guy has broken the Scottish 800m Junior Record 9 times and holds the English AAA U20 Indoor & BUCS Championship records.
