Glenorchy is a suburb of Hobart, in the state of Tasmania, Australia. Glenorchy is bound by the River Derwent to the east, Mount Wellington to the west, Hobart City to the south and Brighton to the north. The city officially begins at Creek Road New Town, in Hobart's northern suburbs, and includes, Moonah, Derwent Park, Lutana, Goodwood, Montrose, Rosetta, Berriedale, Chigwell, Claremont and Austins Ferry. It is the seat of the local government area of the same name, the City of Glenorchy.

Channel Court is a sub regional shopping centre located on the Channel Highway, Kingston, Hobart, Tasmania. For many years the shopping centre was considered very small but adequate to the needs of the local population. However, since being purchased by the Behrakis Group in June 2004 the centre has undergone a complete transformation to cope with the influx of mainlanders and their traffic. Tasmania's largest Big W was opened at the shopping centre on April 5, 2006, and it is planned that by 2009 Channel Court will be one of the largest shopping centres in Tasmania.

Cadbury's Chocolate Factory is a working chocolate factory belonging to the Australian division of international confectionery company Cadbury, and is located in Claremont, Tasmania. Despite being an active production facility, Cadbury's Claremont has a rich history with 18 heritage listed buildings on the site. The factory still features pure granite "conching" machines which are over 60 years old but are still in use. Due to its long history, and the general appeal of chocolate, the factory was a major Tasmanian tourism attraction for families until its on-site visitor centre closed in 2015.
Smooth Island, is a privately owned island with an area of 59.31 ha lying close to the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, Australia. The island is part of the Sloping Island Group situated in Norfolk Bay and surrounded by the Tasman and Forestier Peninsulas. The towns Dunalley and Murdunna are nearby. Smooth Island differs from other Tasmanian islands as it has an unencumbered freehold title down to the high-water mark.
The Friars are four steep dolerite rocks, with a combined area of about 17 ha, in south-eastern Australia. They are part of the Actaeon Island Group, lying close to the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, at the southern entrance to the D'Entrecasteaux Channel between Bruny Island and the mainland. The Shot Tower at Taroona is a heritage listed historic building between Hobart and Kingston, Tasmania. It was the tallest building in Australia for four years (1870-1875), and the tallest structure in Tasmania until it was superseded by the Mount Wellington broadcast tower in 1960. The Taroona Shot Tower is believed to be the tallest circular sandstone tower in the world.
