Commonwealth is a subzone of Queenstown, located in the central-western part of Singapore. It is named after the Commonwealth of Nations. Commonwealth consists of Housing and Development Board flats, and there is one primary school and a secondary school in the area, New Town Primary School and Queensway Secondary School. SBS Transit Bus Services 32, 51, 93, 100, 105, 111, 122, 123, 145, 147, 153, 186, 195, 196, 198, SMRT Buses Services 61, 961/961M & 970 and Tower Transit Singapore Service 855 passes through this area. The nearest Mass Rapid Transit station is Commonwealth MRT station. Amenities in the area include Blessed Sacrament Church, Faith Methodist Church, Masjid Mujahidin Mosque, Queenstown Community Centre, Queenstown Lutheran Church, Ridout Tea Garden, Shuang Long Shan Wu Shu Ancestral Hall, Sri Muneeswaran Temple and Tanglin Halt Food Centre and Market.
Politics
Commonwealth was once part of Queenstown SMC from 1955 to 1988 and subsequently became part of the founding constituencies of Brickworks GRC in 1988 when it was first formed, prior to the 1988 General Election. In 1997, this town became part of the expanded Buona Vista constituency as it was part of Tanjong Pagar GRC when both GRCs merged but Clementi, West Coast, Pasir Panjang and Telok Blangah were carved out to form West Coast GRC. In 2001, Commonwealth itself and the entire Buona Vista ward were being carved out to form Holland-Bukit Panjang GRC and subsequently Holland-Bukit Timah GRC in 2006.
Since then, Buona Vista (including Commonwealth) has since returned to Tanjong Pagar GRC in 2011 and this constituency is currently helmed by the incumbent Minister for EducationChan Chun Sing.
Today, the entire of Commonwealth (including Commonwealth Close and Crescent) is now managed by Tanjong Pagar Town Council.

Buona Vista is a housing estate located in the subzones of one-north and Holland Drive in the residential township of Queenstown in Singapore. The housing estate is served by the Buona Vista MRT station which links it up with the MRT system. It also has a bus terminal.
Boon Lay is a neighbourhood located in the town of Jurong West in the West Region of Singapore. Its borders very roughly correspond to the URA subzone of Boon Lay Place, situated within the Jurong West Planning Area.
Dover is a relatively small neighbourhood of Singapore, located in Queenstown. It is bordered by Ghim Moh to the north, Kent Ridge to the south and southeast, one-north and Queenstown to the east, Commonwealth and Holland Village to the northeast Clementi to the west and West Coast to the southwest. It is often a noted location due to the sheer number of educational facilities it holds, while lying in a zone between the Central Area and near industrial zone in the vicinity of Jurong.

Taman Jurong is a residential precinct in Jurong West, Singapore. It is one of the oldest residential precincts in Singapore and a division of Jurong GRC, with the area's HDB flats under the management of Jurong-Clementi Town Council and Shawn Huang as the area's MP.
Teban Gardens is a residential precinct located in Jurong East, Singapore. Immediately north of Pandan Reservoir, it comprises exclusively public housing built by the JTC Corporation and Housing and Development Board.
The Holland–Bukit Panjang Group Representation Constituency was a Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in Singapore which only appeared in the 2001 elections. Prior to that, parts of the Cashew and Zhenghua were originally Bukit Panjang division of the Sembawang GRC and several parts of Bukit Timah were originally Tanglin division of the Kreta Ayer–Tanglin GRC. Buona Vista came from Tanjong Pagar GRC and Ulu Pandan came from Bukit Timah GRC.
Bukit Timah Single Member Constituency(SMC) was a single member constituency in Bukit Timah, Singapore. It was formerly known as Bukit Timah Constituency before 1988.
Queenstown Public Library is one of the 26 public libraries established by the National Library Board of Singapore. It was the first full-time Branch Library to be built by the National Library in its plan to decentralise home reading services. It pioneered several firsts amongst Branch Libraries, including becoming the first fully air-conditioned Branch in 1978, computerising its loan services in 1987, and lending video cassettes in 1997. It was refurbished in 2003. The building plans were approved by Mrs Hedwig Anuar, the then-Director of the National Library. Building construction began in November 1968 and with its completion, the building was handed over to the National Library on 26 December 1969. It is currently the oldest library in Singapore after the original National Library at Stamford Road was torn down, the first of 26 under the National Library Board (NLB) to be preserved as announced on 25 July 2014 and was gazetted for conservation under the Urban Redevelopment Authority's Master Plan 2014, as part of the medium-term physical development of Singapore on 6 June that year.
