Community Coach is a bus operator in northern New Jersey owned by Coach USA, operating fixed route and charter service.
In June 2024, Coach USA filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, blaming corporate impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company has plans to sell its assets, and plans to sell its Megabus subsidiaries (including Community Coach) to Bus Company Holdings, a unit of the Renco Group. [2]
Community Coach, as Community Transit Lines, operates a single line run from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (most trips) or the United Nations (77XE) in New York City to the Livingston Mall in Livingston, the #77 line, via Main Street in Orange, Route 10, and Ridgedale Avenue, [3] 77X via Northfield, 77L via GS Pkwy, 77XP via Prospect Av, and 77XC express seven days a week. This line was previously operated by DeCamp.
Under contract to New Jersey Transit, Community Coach, operating as Community Transportation, operated the following routes under, which run Monday through Saturday only unless otherwise indicated. The contract for these routes were transferred to Academy Bus on August 17, 2024. [4]

New Jersey Transit Corporation, branded as NJ Transit or NJTransit and often shortened to NJT, is a state-owned public transportation system that serves the U.S. state of New Jersey and portions of the states of New York and Pennsylvania. It operates buses, light rail, and commuter rail services throughout the state, connecting to major commercial and employment centers both within the state and in its two adjacent major cities, New York City and Philadelphia. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 209,259,800.
The River Line is a hybrid rail line in southern New Jersey that connects the cities of Camden and Trenton, New Jersey's capital. It is so named because its route between the two cities is parallel to the Delaware River.
The Northeast Corridor Line is a commuter rail service operated by NJ Transit between the Trenton Transit Center and New York Penn Station on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor in the United States. The service is the successor to Pennsylvania Railroad commuter trains between Trenton and New York, and is NJ Transit's busiest commuter rail service. After arrival at New York Penn Station, some trains load passengers and return to New Jersey, while others continue east to Sunnyside Yard for storage. Most servicing is done at the Morrisville Yard, at the west end of the line.

The Raritan Valley Line is a commuter rail service operated by New Jersey Transit (NJT) which serves passengers in municipalities in Union, Somerset, Middlesex, Essex, and Hunterdon counties in the Raritan Valley region, primarily in central New Jersey and a smaller portion of northern New Jersey, in the United States. The line's most frequent western terminus is Raritan station in Raritan. Some weekday trains continue farther west and terminate at the High Bridge station, located in High Bridge. Most eastbound trains terminate in Newark; passengers are able to transfer to NJ Transit using a combined ticket or PATH and Amtrak to New York City. A limited number of weekday trains continue directly to New York.
Wisconsin Coach Lines is a commuter bus service, charter coach service and intercity carrier based in Waukesha, Wisconsin. WCL was founded in 1941 as Waukesha Transit Lines. It has been a subsidiary of Coach USA since 1998.
Rockland Coaches Inc., formerly known as The Red and Tan Lines, and locally shortened to Red and Tan, is a commuter coach company owned by Coach USA based in Westwood, New Jersey, that operates commuter bus service between New York City and points in Bergen County, New Jersey, and Rockland County, New York, and provides local bus service in both locales north of Route 46. Coach USA acquired the company in 1997.

The 981 Port Liberté-Grove Street was a bus route operated by Seven Bus Corporation, a Coach USA subsidiary in New Jersey, under contract to New Jersey Transit for its Wheels service. It connected Port Liberté with the Grove Street Port Authority Trans-Hudson station, operating entirely within the city of Jersey City.
The A&C Bus Corporation, also known as the Montgomery & Westside Independent Bus Owners Association, was an independent bus company headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Environmental Performance Vehicles (EPV), previously DesignLine Corporation, is a manufacturer of coach, electric and range-extended electric (hybrid) buses. It was founded in Ashburton, New Zealand in 1985. Initially it was a manufacturer of tour coaches. In the 1990s it diversified into conventional transit buses and then added hybrid city buses in the late 1990s. It was acquired by American interests in 2006, and DesignLine Corporation's headquarters was relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. Following a bankruptcy in 2013, the assets of DesignLine were sold and the company was renamed.
Olympia Trails, which used to also do business as Megabus Northeast, LLC, ONE/Independent Bus, and Red and Tan bus, is a bus operator serving northern New Jersey with local and commuter bus service. It has been owned by Coach USA since 1998.
Suburban Transit is a bus operator in central New Jersey owned by Coach USA, which in turn is owned by the private equity firm, Variant Equity Advisors, and provides commuter bus service from Mercer, Somerset, and Middlesex County to New York City and local bus service along the New Jersey Route 27 and U.S. Route 130 in Middlesex County. It has been severely impacted by the Coronavirus Pandemic, which has caused a substantial decline in commuter bus ridership. They also operate the Metropark, Plainfield, Monmouth, and Middlesex County Local Routes for New Jersey Transit.
DeCamp Bus Lines is an apportioned bus company serving Essex County, New Jersey and Passaic County, New Jersey, with charter services. Until 2023, DeCamp also operated commuter line-run services to and from Manhattan.
Short Line is a brand name for three different Coach USA companies, Hudson Transit Lines, Hudson Transit Corporation, and Chenango Valley Bus Lines that provide local, commuter and intercity bus service in lower New York State, primarily along the Route 17 and Southern Tier corridor. Coach USA acquired the companies in 1998.
Gray Line Montreal, although a member of the Coach Canada family, is an independently managed operation, that also formerly carried the brand of Stagecoach Montréal. They run a fleet of coaches and double-decker buses in and around Montreal, under the banner of Gray Line Worldwide sightseeing tours, offering city tours and trips to Quebec City. Although departures are mostly at the Dorchester Square/Peel Street location, some of the routes offer hop-on hop-off convenience.
Van Galder Bus Company, legally Sam Van Galder, Inc. is a regional bus service headquartered in Janesville, Wisconsin. A subsidiary of Coach USA, the company had been a family-owned business for over 50 years until it was sold in 1999 to the Stagecoach Group, who retained Stephen Van Galder as president under the Coach USA banner. In 2004, Van Galder acquired Rockford Coach Lines, which provided airport service from Rockford to O'Hare, from Greyhound Lines.
