OurBus is an intercity bus network in the United States and Canada. The company serves as a broker between passengers and charter bus operators, marketing bus routes under its brand. [1] Its intercity and commuter bus routes serve cities in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, as well as in Ontario, Canada.

The company does not own or operate its fleet of buses, as it acts as an online platform that creates a bus route network by sourcing available charter buses that are often used by schools or churches. [3]

History

On March 24, 2021, OurBus merged with Rally, a crowdfunding travel platform for bus charters. [10] [11]

On September 27, 2021, The new OurBus route connects four locations in Ontario (Niagara Falls, Mississauga, Toronto, and Scarborough) to Buffalo Airport, with connecting service to Western New York (Rochester, Geneva, Ithaca, Binghamton); Fort Lee, New Jersey; and New York City, which allows passengers to travel on one ticket from the Greater Toronto Area to New York City [12]

On October 15, 2021, OurBus has started a new bus service connecting New York City to Albany and key points in the Hudson Valley, including New Paltz and Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets.

Vermont Translines is an intercity bus company founded by its parent company, charter bus company Premier Coach, in 2013. The bus company mainly serves the US Route 7 and US Route 4 corridors in the New England state of Vermont. Aided by $400,000 in annual federal grant money disbursed by the Vermont Agency of Transportation, the company also utilizes Greyhound's ticketing system and connects with other Greyhound bus routes, primarily in Burlington, Albany and White River Junction. Service on two routes between Burlington, Vermont and Albany, New York and between Rutland, Vermont and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire officially began June 9, 2014, with intermediate stops at towns and cities between. The restart of intercity bus service for places like Rutland marked the first time some places along the current routes had seen any intercity bus service at all since Greyhound left Rutland in 2008, and in towns like Bennington since 2005.

Bieber Transportation Group was an American bus company based in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, operating intercity commuter buses, charter buses, and tours. The company provided bus service from the Reading and Lehigh Valley regions of eastern Pennsylvania to Philadelphia and New York City. The company was founded by Carl R. Bieber in 1946. Bieber ended operations on February 8, 2019.

BestBus is a company that operates low-cost intercity bus service in the Mid-Atlantic states of the United States. The primary service operated by BestBus runs from various stops in the Washington, D.C., area to New York City. BestBus also operates service on summer weekends from Washington, D.C., and New York City to the Delaware Beaches. BestBus formerly was branding only and service was provided by contractors. BestBus was acquired by charter company DC Trails in 2018 and assumed operations.

Martz is a part of the Trailways Transportation System, a network of approximately 70 independent bus companies. Martz Group operates Martz Trailways, which provides intercity commuter bus service from the Wyoming Valley cities of Wilkes-Barre and Scranton and the Pocono Mountains in Northeastern Pennsylvania to New York City and Philadelphia. Martz Group operates the Gold Line commuter service and Gray Line sightseeing service in Washington, D.C.. Klein Transportation is a bus provider based in Douglassville, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1957 initially as a school bus service provider, the company started offering charter buses and tours in 1979 and intercity commuter routes in February 2019.
