The Fourth Republic is the current republican government of Nigeria. Since 1999 it has governed the country according to the fourth republican constitution. It was in many ways a revival of the Second Republic,which was in place between 1979 and 1983 and suffers many of the same problems,such as multiple ministries which made policy planning difficult. Nigeria adopted the constitution of the Fourth Republic on May 29,1999.

Useni also served as Deputy Chairman of one of the significant parties in Nigeria,the All Nigeria Peoples Party. He was elected Senator for the Plateau South constituency of Plateau State,Nigeria in the March 2015 national elections. Useni was running on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform.

Joy Emodi was elected Senator for the Anambra North constituency of Anambra State,Nigeria,taking office on 20 February 2005 after the election of Emmanuel Anosike was annulled. After protracted hearings,Igbeke was declared the winner on 25 March 2010.

He took office on 29 May 1999. He was reelected in April 2003 on the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) platform for a second four-year term.
Muktar Ahmed Mohammed Aruwa was a Nigerian senator. He was first elected to the senate in 1999 as a representative of Kaduna State for the All People's Party (APP). Aruwa sat on several senate committees and opposed the privatization of public enterprises. He was re-elected in 2003 as a member of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP),the successor to the APP. He was involved in a dispute over committee appointments,claiming unfair play by the senate leadership. Aruwa's name was dropped from the ANPP party list for the 2007 election.
