Sunday Olawale Fajinmi Listen is a Nigerian politician and an entrepreneur.
Fajinmi completed his higher education at Teesside University and went on to provide national services as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) while employed at Nigeria Airways. [1]
Fajinmi was elected Senator for the Osun West constituency of Osun State,Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic,running on the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform. He took office on 29 May 1999. [2]
Senator Sunday Olawale Fajinmi was elected a Senator in 1998 representing Osun west senatorial district on the platform of the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) during General Sani Abacha's military regime. After democracy was restored,in June 1999 he was again elected Senator,Osun west on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy beating Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke of the People's Democratic Party. [3]
While in the senate,he was appointed to the Science &Technology,Transport,State &Local Government (Vice Chairman),Information,Government Affairs and Economic Affairs committees. [4] In December 2005 he moved over to the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). [5]
Fajinmi was the Alliance for Democracy gubernatorial candidate in the 9 August 2014 Osun State election. [6]
The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN),formerly known as Action Congress (AC),was a Nigerian political party formed via the merger of a faction of Alliance for Democracy,the Justice Party,the Advance Congress of Democrats,and several other minor political parties in September 2006. The party controlled Lagos. It was regarded as a natural successor to the progressive politics more closely associated with the Action Group and Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the First and Second Republics respectively. However,criticism of the party's more pragmatic and less ideological political outlook associated with AG and UPN,has made many argue it was less of a worthy political heir. The Party had strong presence in the South West,Mid-West and North Central Regions. Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke was a Nigerian politician,he was a two time senator who represented Osun West from 2007 to 2011 under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and was elected again under the banner of the All Progressives Congress in 2015. He ran for re-election in April 2011 on the PDP platform,coming second with 77,090 votes behind the eventual winner Mudasiru Oyetunde Hussein of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) who polled 121,971 votes.

In June 2020,he was confirmed to have COVID-19 and was announced dead on the 25th of June.
