Bello Jibrin Gada is a Nigerian politician who was Senator for Sokoto East from May 1999 to May 2003. He was appointed Minister of Culture &Tourism on 17 December 2008 after a cabinet reshuffle by President Umaru Yar'Adua. [1] He left office in March 2010 when Acting President Goodluck Jonathan dissolved his cabinet. [2]
Gada was born in 1954. He attended Bayero University (Kano) and Ahmadu Bello University (Zaria). [3] He was elected Senator for Sokoto East on the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) platform,holding office from May 1999 to May 2003. He served as the Minority Whip during his term in office. Later,he defected to the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP),where he became chairman of the Sokoto State People's Democratic Party.[ citation needed ]
A few weeks after being appointed Minister of Culture and Tourism,in January 2009 Gada gave his support to the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC),which was concerned about the rapidly growing number of tourism operators that were not accredited by the NTDC. [4]
Speaking at the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) held in Minna,Niger State in December 2009,Gada said the festival was much more than a dancing jamboree,but served as a vital tool for fostering unity in the country,showcased the country's diverse culture and promoted tourism. [5]
In a February 2010 press briefing,Gada listed the achievements of his ministry in the past year which included establishing six cultural industry centres,creating the Institute for African Culture and International Understanding,Abeokuta and establishing a committee on National Archives and National Museums. He outlined plans for the future such as increased public / private partnership and rehabilitation and reconstruction of abandoned and dilapidated museums and archives projects. He did not discuss the National Tourism Master-plan. [6] In March 2010 Gada inaugurated various committees of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria to help put the country at par with other African tourist nations. [7]
Muhammad Adamu Aliero is a Nigerian politician who is the senator representing Kebbi Central senatorial district since 2015. He previously served in that position from 2007 to 2008. He served as the governor of Kebbi State from 1999 to 2007. He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Shettima Mustafa was a Nigerian academic and politician. After an early career in medicine,local administration,and media,Mustafa studied agriculture at university,eventually earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He became a commissioner in Borno State and joined the Nigerian People's Party,becoming their vice-presidential candidate in 1983. He was jailed after the military coup of December 1983 led by Muhammadu Buhari. After his release in 1985 he taught agriculture at the University of Maiduguri and became head of the Jos region of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. Mustafa served as Minister of Agriculture from 1990 to 1992,and in 2007 was appointed Minister of Defence in the cabinet of President Umaru Yar'Adua. In 2008 he became Minister of the Interior but left office with the 2010 dissolution of the cabinet.
Ibrahim Isa Bio was appointed by President Umaru Yar'Adua as Nigeria's Minister of Transportation on 17 December 2008. After Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan became acting President in February 2010,he dissolved the cabinet on 17 March 2010,and swore in a new cabinet on 6 April 2010 with Ibrahim Bio as Minister for the National Sports Commission.

He was Minister of Communications from June 2001 to May 2003. After he left office,he was indicted in a bribery scandal involving the German telecom company Siemens AG.
Mohammed Arzika was appointed Nigerian Minister of Communications from June 1999 to June 2001 in the cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo. He died after a brief illness on 9 June 2015.
Barrister Mukhtar Shehu Shagari,CFR was appointed Nigerian Minister of Water Resources in a June 2001 reshuffle of the cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo. He was later appointed President of the African Ministers Council On Water (AMCOW). Shagari held office until January 2007 when he left to compete for Deputy Governor of Sokoto State. The 2023 Sokoto State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023,to elect the Governor of Sokoto State,concurrent with elections to the Sokoto State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.
The 1999 Nigerian Senate election in Sokoto State was held on February 20,1999,to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Sokoto State. Aliyu Abubakar representing Sokoto North,Bello Jibrin Gada representing Sokoto East and Abdallah Wali representing Sokoto South all won on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party.
