The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a Nigerian law enforcement agency that investigates financial crimes such as advance fee fraud and money laundering. The EFCC was established in 2003,partially in response to pressure from the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF),which named Nigeria as one of 23 countries non-cooperative in the international community's efforts to fight money laundering. The agency has its head office in Abuja,Nigeria.

On 23 June 2022,Ekweremadu was charged alongside his wife in UK Magistrate’s Court with conspiring to arrange the travel of a 21 year old into the UK in order to harvest organs.

Muktar Ahmed Mohammed Aruwa was a Nigerian senator. He was first elected to the senate in 1999 as a representative of Kaduna State for the All People's Party (APP). Aruwa sat on several senate committees and opposed the privatization of public enterprises. He was re-elected in 2003 as a member of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP),the successor to the APP. He was involved in a dispute over committee appointments,claiming unfair play by the senate leadership. Aruwa's name was dropped from the ANPP party list for the 2007 election.
Dalhatu Sarki Tafida was elected Senator for the Kaduna North constituency of Kaduna State,Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic,running on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform. He took office on 29 May 1999. He was reelected for a further four-year term in 2003.
Ibrahim Musa is a Nigerian lawyer who was elected Senator for the Niger North constituency of Niger State,Nigeria in the April 2011 national elections.
