The province of East Kalimantan in Indonesia is divided into regencies which is turn are divided administratively into districts, known as Kecamatan. The districts below include (listed separately) those which are within the new province of North Kalimantan.

The Provinces of Indonesia are the 34 largest subdivisions of the country and the highest tier of the local government. Provinces are further divided into regencies and cities, which are in turn subdivided into subdistricts (kecamatan).

Tanjung Redeb is a town and district which is the administrative centre of Berau Regency, in East Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. It covers an area of 31.6 sq.km, and at the 2010 Census it had a population of 62,725.

Tarakan, North Kalimantan City in North Kalimantan, Indonesia

Tarakan is the largest city of the Indonesian province of North Kalimantan. The island of Tarakan is located in northern Borneo, just across the border from Sabah, Malaysia. Once a major oil-producing region during the colonial period, Tarakan had great strategic importance during the Pacific War and was among the first Japanese targets early in the war. It is the sole city within the newly established Indonesian province of North Kalimantan.

2008 Pekan Olahraga Nasional

2008 Pekan Olahraga National or the Indonesia National Games XVII were a major multi-sport event in Indonesia which took place in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, from July 5–17, 2008. A total of 7,946 athletes participated in the biggest-ever Pekan Olahraga Nasional and also the first on the island of Borneo. These games make Samarinda the second city to host Pekan Olahraga Nasional outside of the island of Java and Sumatra, after Makassar hosted the 1957 Pekan Olahraga Nasional.
