The province of the West Java in Indonesia is divided into regencies and cities, which in turn are divided administratively into districts, known as kecamatan.
The Provinces of Indonesia are the 34 largest subdivisions of the country and the highest tier of the local government. Provinces are further divided into regencies and cities, which are in turn subdivided into subdistricts (kecamatan).
West Java is a province of Indonesia. It is located in the western part of the island of Java and its capital and largest urban center is Bandung, although much of its population in the northwest corner of the province live in areas suburban to the larger urban area of Jakarta, though that city itself lies outside the administrative province. With a population of 46.3 million West Java is the most populous of Indonesia's provinces.

Bandung is the capital of West Java province in Indonesia. According to the 2015 census, it is Indonesia's fourth most populous city after Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bekasi with over 2.5 million inhabitants. At the meantime, Greater Bandung is the country's third largest metropolitan area with over 8 million inhabitants. Located 768 metres above sea level, approximately 140 kilometres southeast of Jakarta, Bandung has cooler year-round temperatures than most other Indonesian cities. The city lies on a river basin surrounded by volcanic mountains. This topography provides a natural defense system, which was the primary reason for the Dutch East Indies government's plan to move the colony capital from Batavia to Bandung.
Indramayu is a town and district which serves as the capital of Indramayu Regency in the West Java province of Indonesia, and is located in the northern coastal area of West Java, east from Jakarta, north-east from the city of Bandung, and north-west of the city of Cirebon. Most of its land are situated below sea level, which makes the district vulnerable to high tide in stormy conditions. The district is only protected by some dunes and barrages at the seaside.
Majalengka is a Town and subdistrict in the West Java province of Indonesia; it is the capital of Majalengka Regency. At the 2010 Census, the district had a population of 68,871, of which the town had a population of 20,906.
Sundanese is a Malayo-Polynesian language spoken by the Sundanese. It has approximately 39 million native speakers in the western third of Java; they represent about 15% of Indonesia's total population.
Bandung Regency is an administrative regency located to the south, southeast and east of the city of Bandung. The northern parts of the Bandung Regency are effectively part of the Bandung Metropolitan Area, with the southern third being less urbanized and jutting upwards from the Valley, though not as sharply as the mountain range to the immediate north of Bandung. The Regency is part of the Indonesian province of West Java, and is situated about 75 miles southeast of Jakarta. The city of Soreang is the capital of the regency.
The Great Post Road is the name for the historical road that runs across Java that connects Anyer and Panarukan. It was built during the reign of Herman Willem Daendels (1808–1811), governor-general of the Dutch East Indies.
Bogor Regency is a regency (kabupaten) of West Java, Indonesia, south of DKI Jakarta. It is considered a bedroom community for Jakarta, and is home to over five million people. Its administration is located in Cibinong.
Cirebon Regency is a regency (kabupaten) of West Java, Indonesia. Sumber is its capital. The area and population excludes those of Cirebon City, which is an independent administration, although totally surrounded by the regency on its landward side.
Karawang Regency is a regency (kabupaten) of West Java, Indonesia. Karawang is its capital. It has an area of 1,652.2 km2 and a 2010 census population of 2,127,791 people; the latest official estimate is 2,288,254, for a density of 1,385 people per km2. The district borders Bekasi and Bogor regencies in the west, the Java Sea in the north, Subang Regency in the east, Purwakarta Regency in the southeast, and Cianjur Regency in the south. The regency lies on the eastern outskirts of Metropolitan Jakarta, just outside the Jabodetabek region, and is the site of industrial activity.

Cikampek is a district of Karawang Regency, West Java, Indonesia. It is divided into 10 administrative villages (kelurahan). Distance from the district centre Cikampek to Karawang is 21 miles.
Kodam III/Siliwangi is a Military district formation of the Indonesian Army. The Division was formed during the Indonesian National Revolution by what was then known as the People's Security Army (TKR). It was stationed in West Java where much of its membership was recruited, and bore the name of a 15th-century kingdom located in this area and of that kingdom's King Siliwangi. it became a Territorial Division on 24 July 1950, and a military regional command, or KODAM, in 1959.

A relatively modern literature in the 17th century Pustaka Rajya Rajya i Bhumi Nusantara describes salakanagara as being founded by an Indian merchant. However no historical records affirms this modern writeup on the ancient kingdom.

The 2018 Liga 3 West Java is the third edition of Liga 3 West Java as a qualifying round for the national round of 2018 Liga 3. PSKC Cimahi, winner of the 2017 Liga 3 West Java are the defending champions. The competition started on 29 April 2018.
