Claytor was the Democratic candidate for Indiana State Auditor during the 2014 election cycle,losing the race to Republican Suzanne Crouch. Prior to entering the race for Auditor,Claytor,a licensed CPA,worked for 15 years at the Indiana State Board of Accounts,where he served as Deputy Chief Examiner before transitioning to a career in the private sector and becoming a partner at Crowe Horwath LLP. He retired from the private sector in 2012. Claytor worked as treasurer for the gubernatorial campaign of former state representative John Gregg.

The primaries were held on May 3,2016. Republican lieutenant governor Eric Holcomb won the race with 51.4% of the vote.

He won the 2016 election for governor of Indiana over Democratic nominee John R. Gregg. Holcomb was reelected in 2020 over Democratic nominee Woody Myers and Libertarian nominee Donald Rainwater.

Cardwell ran for the Indianapolis City-County Council in 2007 and won. He replaced Phil Borst. He won reelection in 2011 and served on the City Council until January 7,2013. He previously served as a Senior Advisor to then Governor Mike Pence from January 14,2013 to March 31,2015.
Mike Speedy is a Republican member of the Indiana House of Representatives representing the 90th district since 2010. He previously served as an Indianapolis City Councilman for the 24th district from 2004 to 2010. The American Conservative Union has given him a lifetime Legislature score of 90%. He earned a BS from the Kelley School of Business and a JD from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. In 2024,Speedy announced he was running for the United States House of Representatives in Indiana's 6th congressional district after Greg Pence announced he would not re-election. He narrowly lost the primary election to former Indianapolis city councilor Jefferson Shreve.
