Enidae is a family of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks. [1]
In this family, the number of haploid chromosomes lies between 21 and 25 (according to the values in this table). [2]
The following subfamilies of Enidae are based on work by Schileyko (1998) [3] and they are in use mainly by Russian malacologists: [4]
The following two subfamilies have been recognized in the taxonomy of Bouchet & Rocroi (2005):
Genera within the family Enidae include:
subfamilia Eninae
either in Enini or in Chondrulini[ clarification needed ]
subfamily Buliminusinae
subfamily ?
Stylommatophora is an order of air-breathing land snails and slugs, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs. This taxon includes most land snails and slugs. Stylommatophorans lack an operculum, but some close their shell apertures with temporary "operculum" (epiphragm) made of calcified mucus. They have two pairs of retractile tentacles, the upper pair of which bears eyes on the tentacle tips. All stylommatophorans are hermaphrodites.
Bradybaeninae is a taxonomic subfamily of medium-sized to small land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Camaenidae, superfamily Helicoidea.
Oxychilus is a genus of small air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropods in the subfamily Oxychilinae of the family Oxychilidae, the glass snails.
Orcula is a genus of land snails in the family Orculidae. It is the type genus of the family.
Hygromiidae is a taxonomic family of small to medium-sized air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Helicoidea.
Streptaxidae is a family of carnivorous air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the clade Stylommatophora. Six Streptaxidae subfamilies are accepted in the 2005 taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi.
Camaenidae is a family of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Helicoidea, the typical snails and their allies. This is one of the most diverse families in the clade Stylommatophora.
Trigonochlamydidae is a family of air-breathing land slugs, terrestrial gastropod molluscs in the clade Eupulmonata.
Helicodontidae is a family of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Helicoidea.
Anadenidae is a family of air-breathing land slugs, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Arionidae.
Merdigera is a genus of small air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the subfamily Eninae of the family Enidae.
Chondrula is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Enidae.
Mastoides is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Enidae.
Gastrocoptidae is a family of minute, air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the superfamily Pupilloidea.
Apoecus is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the subfamily Eninae of the family Enidae.
Mirus is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the subfamily Eninae of the family Enidae.
Brephulopsis is a genus of gastropods belonging to the family Enidae.
Turanena is a genus of gastropods belonging to the family Enidae.
