Espelie Township is a township in Marshall County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 58 at the 2000 census.
Espelie Township was organized in 1903. Espelie is a name derived from Norwegian meaning "poplar slope". [3]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 44.7 square miles (116 km2), all of it land.
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 58 people, 22 households, and 15 families residing in the township. The population density was 1.3 people per square mile (0.5/km2). There were 23 housing units at an average density of 0.5/sq mi (0.2/km2). The racial make-up of the township was 100% White.
There were 22 households, out of which 40.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.1% were married couples living together, and 31.8% were non-families. 31.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.64 and the average family size was 3.40.
