Evanswood is an unincorporated community in the town of Weyauwega, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, United States. [1] The community was named for an early settler named Evan Townsend, who became the first postmaster when the post office was established in September of 1854. [2]

It is named after the Waupaca River, a Menominee language name meaning 'white sand bottom', 'pale water', or 'tomorrow river'.
