The Fiat Phylla concept car was unveiled in 2008 by the Italian car manufacture Fiat. Originally expected to form the basis of a production car in 2010, [1] it remains a concept city car. The Phylla name means "leaves" in ancient Greek.

Specification

The recyclable Phylla is powered by a 1kW hydrogen fuel cell and comes equipped with 340W of photovoltaic solar cells and weighs 750 kg (1,650 lb), 150 kg (330 lb) of which is batteries. [2] The split-frame vehicle is made of a mix of aluminum and bioplastics. The compact four-seater car is 2,995 mm (117.9 in) long equipped with 15-inch wheels wrapped in green tyres. It accelerates to 30 miles (48.3 km) mph in less than 6.0 seconds and can reach a top speed of 81 miles (130.4 km) with a peak output of 72 bhp (54 kW; 73 PS). [3]

Project team

The Phylla was developed by Centro Ricerche Fiat (which as vehicle project leader was responsible for the technical and architectural decisions involved in developing the demonstrator vehicle) in combination with the Piedmont regional administration (which sponsored and funded the project), the Environment Park (which helped define and select innovative technologies for the environment) and the Politecnico di Torino (responsible for the overall management of the project and coordination of the partners). The Opel Antara was a compact crossover SUV which was designed and produced by Opel from 2006 to 2015. The Antara, based on the Theta platform, shared its underpinnings and powertrains with the Chevrolet Captiva. However, it only offered five seats instead of seven, and had a different exterior and interior design. Sales commenced in November 2006.

BAS is an acronym for belted alternator starter. It is a category of automotive parallel hybrid technology that uses an electric motor to contribute power to the internal combustion engine's crankshaft via a serpentine belt. By mounting this motor generator unit in the conventional location traditionally used for the standard automotive alternator, it permits a low-cost method of adding mild hybrid capabilities such as start-stop, power assist, and mild levels of regenerative braking. BAS differ from other mild hybrid systems as they are not run off the vehicle's crankshaft.

Suzuki SX4 car model

The Suzuki SX4 is a compact car and crossover developed jointly by Japanese automaker Suzuki and Italian automaker Fiat, sold since 2006. It was available as a hatchback and sedan, with the former available in both front and four wheel drive. In 2013, the second generation was launched, called Suzuki SX4 S-Cross — now exclusively a mini SUV, with a sedan version no longer offered. The first and second generation SX4s sold alongside one another until 2014. The second generation SX4 has not been marketed as a Fiat, and the SX4 sedan was replaced with the Suzuki Ciaz.

The Los Angeles Auto Show is an annual auto show held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in early December. The LA Auto Show is an OICA sanctioned international exhibition and also endorsed by the Greater Los Angeles New Car Dealers Association. It is open to the public for ten days each year, filling 760,000 square feet (71,000 m2) of exhibit space.

The Fiat 500 is a two-door, four-passenger, transverse front-engine, front-wheel-drive A-segment city car manufactured and marketed by the Fiat subdivision of FCA since 2007. It is available in hatchback coupé and fixed-profile convertible body styles, over a single generation — with an intermediate facelift in Europe with model year 2016. The 500 is internally designated as the Type 312 by FCA.

Fiat Automobiles Automotive brand manufacturing subsidiary of FCA Italy

Fiat Automobiles S.p.A. is an Italian automobile manufacturer, a subsidiary of FCA Italy S.p.A., which is part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Fiat Automobiles was formed in January 2007 when Fiat reorganized its automobile business, and traces its history back to 1899 when the first Fiat automobile, the Fiat 4 HP, was produced.

Renault Twizy

The Renault Twizy is a two-seat electric car designed and marketed by Renault. It is classified in Europe as either a light or heavy quadricycle depending on the output power, which is either 4 kW (5.4 hp) for the 45 model or 13 kW (17 hp) for the 80 model, both names reflecting its top speed in km/h. Originally manufactured in Valladolid, Spain, production was moved to Busan in South Korea in March 2019 to meet an increased demand in Asia.

The Fiat X1/23 is a concept car originally shown in 1972 at the Turin Motor Show and in 1976 as an electric car by the Italian manufacturer Fiat. Designed by Centro Stile Fiat, it is a small two-seater city car, unlike any Fiat produced at the time.
