HMS Severn (sometimes spelt "Severne") was a 50-gun fourth-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched at Sir Henry Johnson's Blackwall Yard on 16 September 1695 (along with her sistership, the Burlington). The commercial contract had originally been agreed with Johnson on 16 November 1693 (for four ships - the Romney and Colchester, as well as the Severn and Burlington), but the latter two were delayed and a fresh contract for them agreed on 7 December 1694. On 13 May 1734, orders were issued for Severn to be taken to pieces and rebuilt at Plymouth according to the 1733 proposals of the 1719 Establishment. Severn was re-launched on 28 March 1739, and served until 18 October 1746, when (under the command of Captain William Lisle) she was captured by the French 70-gun ships Terrible and Neptune in the Channel, southwest of the Isles of Scilly in defending a homebound convoy. Severn was captured back by the British at the second Battle of Cape Finisterre on 25 October 1747; but not taken back into service and instead taken to pieces in that year.
HMS Charles was a 96-gun first-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, built by Christopher Pett at Deptford Dockyard until his death in March 1668, then completed by Jonas Shish after being launched in the same month. Her name was formally Charles the Second, but she was known simply as Charles, particularly after 1673 when the contemporary Royal Charles was launched.
HMS Neptune was a 90-gun second-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy. She was built under the 1677 "Thirty Great Ships" Programme and launched in 1683 at Deptford Dockyard.
HMS Deptford was a 50-gun fourth-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched at Woolwich Dockyard in 1687. This was the second of three 50-gun ships ordered in 1682/3.
HMS Southampton was a 50-gun fourth rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, ordered to be built by commercial contract by John Winter at Chapel, Southampton. The Southampton was launched on 10 June 1693.
HMS Chatham was a 50-gun fourth rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, the first of five such ships to be ordered in 1690. The Chatham was built by Master Shipwright Robert Lee at the eponymous dockyard, and launched on 20 October 1691. She was designed to the same lines as Lee's previous 50-gun ship, the Sedgemoor of 1687 - her specification was for a length of 123 ft, breadth of 34ft 3in and depth in hold of 13ft 9in, although she measured very slightly more on completion.
HMS Dartmouth was a 50-gun fourth rate ship of the line of the English Royal Navy, ordered on 21 June 1692 to be built by commercial contract with the master shipwright John Shish in Rotherhithe, and launched there on 24 July 1693.
HMS Rochester was a 50-gun fourth rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, and the fifth such ship to be ordered in 1692. She was launched at Chatham Dockyard on 15 March 1693.

HMS Pendennis was a 50-gun fourth rate ship of the line of the English Royal Navy, built by Robert and John Castle at Deptford, and launched in 1695.
HMS Falmouth was a 50-gun fourth-rate ship of the line built for the Royal Navy in the first decade of the 18th century. The ship participated in several battles during the War of the Spanish Succession (1701–15) and the War of Jenkins' Ear (1739–48).
HMS Gloucester was a 50-gun fourth-rate ship of the line built at Deptford by Joseph Allin the elder for the Royal Navy in 1710/11. She participated in the War of the Spanish Succession. The ship was burned to prevent capture after she was damaged in a storm during Commodore George Anson's voyage around the world in 1742.
Terrible was originally a 74-gun ship of the line of the French Navy launched in 1739. Captured on 14 October 1747, she was taken into Royal Navy service as the third rate HMS Terrible.
The Minerve class was a type of 40-gun frigate of the French Navy, carrying 18-pounder long guns as their main armament. Six ships of this type were built at Toulon Dockyard, and launched between 1782 and 1794. The frigates served the French Navy briefly during the French Revolutionary Wars. The Royal Navy captured all six between 1793 and 1799 and took them into service, with all but one serving in the Napoleonic Wars, and some thereafter.
HMS Newport was a member of the standardized 20-gun sixth rates built at the end of the 17th century. She spent her short career sailing between New England and Home Waters. She was captured by French Warships in 1696.
HMS Falcon was a member of the standardized 20-gun sixth rates built at the end of the 17th century. She had a very brief career in the Royal Navy as she was captured shortly after commissioning by two French ships. She was recaptured in 1703 then broken.
HMS Oxford was a member of the standardized 20-gun sixth rates built at the end of the 17th century. After commissioning she spent her career escorting convoys of merchant ships, participated with the fleet, including the Battle Velez-Malaga in 1704. She was sold in 1714.
HMS Orford's Prize was a 24-gun French privateer, Le Gaillarde taken by HMS Orford on 2 October 1708. She was purchased and registered on 21 October 1708. She was commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1708 then retaken by the French in 1709.
HMS Fame was a 24-gun French privateer, La Renommee taken in the Mediterranean in July 1709. She was surveyed at Port Mahone 6 July 1709 and fitted out as per Admiral Byng's order. She was commissioned into the Royal Navy in July 1709 for service in the Mediterranean. She was retaken by three French ships off Port Mahone 21 September 1710.
HMS Nightingale was a 24-gun sixth-rate ship of the Royal Navy, purchased in 1706 and in service in North America and English waters until 1716.
HMS Greyhound was a member of the Gibraltar Group of 24-gun sixth rates. After commissioning she spent her career in Home waters and the Mediterranean on trade protection duties. She was captured by five Spanish warships off Morocco in 1718 then recaptured in 1719 and burnt.
