Helicodonta, common name the "cheese snail", is a species of air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the subfamily Helicodontinae of the family Helicodontidae. [2]

The common name is based on the shape of the shell, which is reminiscent of a wheel of cheese.
