Hunterdon County is a county located in the western section of the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2019 Census estimate, the county's population was 124,371, making it the state's 18th-most populous county, representing a 3.1% decrease from the 128,349 enumerated in the 2010 United States Census, in turn increasing by 6,360 (+5.2%) from the 121,989 counted in the 2000 Census. Its county seat is Flemington.
Route 12 is a state highway located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It runs 11.69 mi (18.81 km) from the Uhlerstown–Frenchtown Bridge at the Delaware River border with Pennsylvania in Frenchtown east to an intersection with U.S. Route 202 and Route 31 at the Flemington Circle in Flemington. The route is mostly a two-lane undivided road that passes through rural areas of woodland and farmland. It intersects Route 29 and County Route 513 in Frenchtown, CR 519 in Kingwood Township, CR 579 on the border of Delaware Township and Raritan Township, and CR 523 in Raritan Township.
Flemington is a borough in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 4,581, reflecting an increase of 381 (+9.1%) from the 4,200 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 153 (+3.8%) from the 4,047 counted in the 1990 Census. It is the county seat of Hunterdon County. Most of the borough is in the Amwell Valley, but northwest portions of the borough sit on the Hunterdon Plateau.
Raritan Township is a township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 22,185, reflecting an increase of 2,376 (+12.0%) from the 19,809 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 4,193 (+26.9%) from the 15,616 counted in the 1990 Census. The southeast part of the township is in the Amwell Valley, while the northwestern part is on the Hunterdon Plateau.

The area was settled by Quakers from Burlington County, who organized a meeting house here in 1733. Rowland's Mills or Rowland Mills is an unincorporated community located on the western edge of Readington Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. In 1760, a gristmill was erected at this site, followed by a sawmill around the time of the American Revolutionary War. A hamlet grew up around the mill complex in the early 19th century along the road connecting Flemington and Clinton. In 1838, Rynear Rowland (1798-1862), whom the village was later named after, purchased the mills. At its peak the settlement had a store, a blacksmith shop owned by Oliver Hart Ewing and numerous houses. In the later part of the 19th century the community diminished in size and was all but abandoned in the 1920s when the road through it was widened and designated as State Route 30, the predecessor of modern New Jersey Route 31.
The Amwell Valley is a small valley in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, between the Hunterdon Plateau and the Sourlands. It comprises Stockton, parts of Delaware Township, West Amwell, East Amwell, Flemington and Raritan Township. The region borders the Delaware River to the west and the South Branch Raritan River to the east. The entire area has elevations around two-hundred feet above sea level. US 202 is the main route running west to east through the valley. Old York Road also passes through the valley, taking a generally more southern route through Raritan and along the Sourlands at Mount Airy. Like the Hunterdon Plateau, Amwell Valley still has a large number of farms due to its sufficient climate, relatively flat land and the presence of silt-loams soils. The valley is home to Unionville Winery and Old York Cellars in Ringoes.
Lansdowne is an unincorporated community located within Franklin Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It was named after Lansdown, England. Judge Samuel Johnston (1706–1785) owned a large estate here. Charles Stewart (1729–1800) married Mary Oakley Johnston, daughter of the judge, and lived in the mansion built here, Lansdown, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Flemington Historic District is a historic district in Flemington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. After evaluation by the state historic preservation office (SHPO) it was listed on New Jersey Register of Historic Places ) and the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. One has been documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS).
The Old Stone Church is a historic sandstone church located in Kingwood Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It was built in 1837 and is now owned by the First Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Hunterdon County. The church, described using its historic name, Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Kingwood, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 25, 2018 for its significance in architecture. The earlier church located here was a smaller stone building built in 1755, called the Old Stone Meetinghouse. The stones from this church were probably used to build the current one. The Kingwood congregation was established in 1728 and grew during the First Great Awakening, with Gilbert Tennent and George Whitefield preaching here in 1739.
Lansdown, also known as the Charles Stewart Plantation, is a historic house located on Hamden Road along the South Branch Raritan River in the village of Lansdowne, northeast of Pittstown, in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 2, 1979 for its significance in architecture, military, and politics/government.
