The Clinton Historical Society, in Clinton, Oneida County, New York, is a historical society housed in a historic building. The restored building, built in 1832, is also known as Old Baptist Church of Clinton, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [2]
The historical society focuses on the Village of Clinton and surrounding area. [3] Its name is also used for the historic church building in which the society is headquartered. The building is listed on the National Register as a contributing building in the Clinton Village Historic District. [4] The society's building once had a conical steeple as it appears in a c.1900-1910 photo. [5]
The society is supported by Hamilton College, including the printing of four newsletters per year. [5]
Clinton is a city in and the county seat of Clinton County, Iowa, United States. The population was 24,469 as of 2020. Clinton, along with DeWitt, was named in honor of the sixth governor of New York, DeWitt Clinton. Clinton is the principal city of the Clinton Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is coterminous with Clinton County. Clinton was incorporated on January 26, 1857.

Mount Lebanon Shaker Society, also known as New Lebanon Shaker Society, was a communal settlement of Shakers in New Lebanon, New York. The earliest converts began to "gather in" at that location in 1782 and built their first meetinghouse in 1785. The early Shaker Ministry, including Joseph Meacham and Lucy Wright, the architects of Shakers' gender-balanced government, lived there.

It was built in 1831 and is a vernacular stone meeting house building. It is a simple two story, rectangular building with a gable roof. It is known locally as the Stone Meeting House, and is home to the Remsen Steuben Historical Society.
