Introduction

The Vidyalaya functions under the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Shillong region. The Vidyalaya falls under Cluster-C of Cluster level competitions under the region. Education in the Vidyalaya is free of cost. [2]

Admission

Admission to the Vidyalaya is made through a National Level Competitive Examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education and the children are admitted at class VI level. All the children who have studied in and passed Class V from any recognized school of the district and are between 9 and 13 years of age are eligible to appear Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya selection test (JNVST) for Class VI. A total of 75% of seats are reserved for rural children and a minimum of 33% of seats are reserved for girls. SCs/STs also have due reservations of 15% & 7% respectively. Children are also being admitted against the vacant seats in class IX and in class XI through a Regional Level Examination. [3]
