The Kikwete Cabinet was formed by President Jakaya Kikwete after taking the oath of office on 21 December 2005. Kikwete had won a landslide victory in the 2005 presidential election receiving 80.2 percent of the popular vote. [1] His inaugural cabinet had seven women ministers, the highest in the nation's history. [2]
Kikwete's first appointment was Johnson Mwanyika as Attorney General. Mwanyika was sworn in on 24 December 2005. Edward Lowassa was then nominated as Prime Minister and was approved overwhelmingly by the National Assembly. He was sworn in on 30 December 2005; the same day President Kikwete inaugurated the 9th Parliament. [3] The inaugural cabinet ministers took oath of office on 6 January 2006.

President Kikwete made his first cabinet reshuffle in October 2006 which resulted in ten ministers swapping their portfolios. [5] The energy crisis at the time may have necessitated the President's decision. [6]

Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete is a Tanzanian politician who was the fourth president of Tanzania, in office from 2005 to 2015.
Johnson Paulo Mathias Mwanyika is a former Attorney General of Tanzania, having previously held the offices of Deputy Attorney General and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. He was appointed in December 2005, succeeding Andrew Chenge, who left the post after ten years to become an MP.

The Magufuli Cabinet was formed by President of Tanzania John Magufuli after taking the oath of office on 5 November 2015. Magufuli won the 2015 general election with 58% of the vote in a tightly contested race against ex-CCM Chadema rival Edward Lowassa. After being sworn in on 5 November 2015, Magufuli announced his cabinet almost a month later, on 10 December 2015. He reduced the cabinet to 19 ministers from 30 in the previous cabinet. The Second Cabinet's tenure was cut short on 19 March 2021, following the death of President John Magufuli, and the swearing-in of Samia Suluhu Hassan as the new president.
