Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are a franchise cricket team based in Kolkata, India, which plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They are one of the eight teams that competed in the 2017 IPL edition. They were captained by Gautam Gambhir, while former Knight Riders all-rounder Jacques Kallis was in his third season as the team's head coach.

The 2020 season was the 13th season for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). They were one of the eight teams that competed in the 2020 Indian Premier League. The franchise previously qualified for the IPL playoffs in 2011 and won the tournament in 2012 and 2014. The team was captained by Eoin Morgan with Brendon McCullum as the new team coach. The team finished 5th and could not qualify for the playoffs.

The 2022 season was the 15th season for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). They were one of the ten teams that competed in the 2022 Indian Premier League. The franchise qualified for the IPL playoffs for the first time in 2011 and won the tournament in 2012 and 2014. The franchise also qualified for the playoffs in the three consecutive years of 2016, 2017 and 2018 as well as in 2021 when they were runners up.

The 2023 cricket season was the 16th season for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The franchise had won the IPL title twice in 2012 and 2014. The franchise had also qualified for the playoffs for three consecutive years in 2016, 2017 and 2018 as well as in 2021, when they were the runners up. In 2023, KKR failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second season in a row, finishing in the seventh place.
