Kurunduwatte Royal College, is a Sri Lankan Public provincial school, providing education to students of Gampola and Nawalapitiya Divisions.
In 2009 Royal College, Kurunduwatte was started with an aim of giving quality education to the children in the area.
Robert Harley, an estate owner, provided 2.0 ha (5 acres) of land for the school, which commenced on 26 March 2009. The Minister for Sports, Mahindananda Aluthgamage was a major driver for the establishment of the school.
Kurunduwatte Royal College commenced with seven teachers and 143 pupils, with the founding principal, T. N. Hanan.

There are about 1,500 students and 78 teachers.[ when? ] The students for the school are selected through grade 5 scholarship programme. Grades are from 6 to 13. The school provides all A/L disciplines from Science stream to Technology Stream. [1]
Education in Sri Lanka has a long history that dates back two millennia.
