LGA 1851 (codename Socket V1) is an upcoming socket for Arrow Lake-S and Arrow Lake-S Refresh[ citation needed ] desktop processors, estimated to release in 2024. [1]

Its socket and processor will be the same size as LGA 1700. Hence, old coolers will fit the CPUs of this socket. The number of contacts has increased, from 1700 (for LGA 1700) to 1851 contacts. [2]

It offers 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes (x16 for the video card and x4 for storage) and an additional 4 PCIe 4.0 lanes for storage. The video card lanes can now be bifurcated to three devices (x8, x4, x4) instead of two for LGA 1700. It only supports DDR5 SDRAM, with no option for DDR4 SDRAM like on previous generation (LGA 1700). [3] [4] [5] [6]

Like Alder Lake, Raptor Lake is fabricated using Intel's Intel 7 process. Raptor Lake features up to 24 cores and 32 threads and is socket compatible with Alder Lake systems. Meteor Lake is Intel's codename for the first generation of Intel Core Ultra mobile processors, and was officially launched on December 14, 2023. It is the first generation of Intel mobile processors to use a chiplet architecture. Tim Wilson led the system on a chip development for this generation microprocessor.

Socket sTR5 is a land grid array (LGA) CPU socket designed by AMD. It supports the Zen 4-based Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series, which launched in November 2023.
